Photo: http://www.armandhammer.com/ Whether you are whipping up magic or just scrubbing a pot, there are few products that work as well and are as affordable as a box of baking soda. In fact, if you have baking soda, salt and vinegar, you have the base for all sorts of household witchery - both magical and mundane. For this post, however, we'll stick to the baking soda. A four pound box of the name brand costs about $2 - store brand or generic is even cheaper! It's natural, … [Read more...]
Clearing Your Sink and Magically Sealing It
Photo by Stilfehler via Wiki Commons Is there anything worse than trying to do dishes and finding your sink full of water? One of my biggest pet peeves is having a clogged sink (just ask my family how often they hear "You better scrape that plate before you rinse it!!!"). Nothing is worse than trying to rinse dishes and having the sink fill up with gross, dirty water because it can't get through the drain. Blech. I started long ago doing a weekly ritual (it can be done monthly if … [Read more...]
Marie Laveau 5 Holy Waters for a Peaceful Home

Mild seasonal blues, lack of sunlight, freezing temperatures, and if you're like me, cold, creaky bones! Magical Black Salt: What it is, how to make it, how to use it
I've been doing a lot of reading about different magical paths lately, and learning about different potions and brews and what they are used for - and thinking about how they can be used as applied to my own path as a domestic witch. One thing I'm very big on right now is trying to start using only items that I can grow or create myself with the everyday things I already own. In reading about the Hoodoo tradition, I am very impressed with how many things I can whip up using items … [Read more...]
Samhain sleep and protection pouches
Every year at Samhain time, on the closest full moon, I make sleep protection bags for each member of my family. These bags contain items for restful sleep, happy dreams and protection. I start by gathering all my supplies: Herbs (I will have a list of the herbs I use at the end.), any stones that I might be using, needle and thread, pre-made pouches or material to sew into pouches, and any items that you might need for blessing/cleansing your items or finished pouches. I … [Read more...]
