A New Roundtable Discussion, Fresh Voices, and the Next Generation

My official photo as chairman of The Interpreter Foundation, proving that, though old, I still enjoy life

The Interpreter Foundation has posted its fifth scripture roundtable — this one on 3 Nephi 22-26 and featuring Brant Gardner, Taunalyn Rutherford, and Andrew Smith.  We’re still encountering some technical challenges as we master this venue, but we’re pleased to offer such discussions and will continue to do so, and to improve our performance.

One of the things that has most pleased me about The Interpreter Foundation during its short lifetime thus far (it was only launched at the very end of July 2012) has been its ability to enlist new contributors like Andrew Smith (who is heading up our roundtables) and Taunalyn Rutherford, both of whom are doctoral students at Claremont Graduate University in southern California.

Other doctoral candidates such as David Larsen and David Calabro serve as Interpreter editors.

Ph.D. candidate Jacob Rennaker and newly minted Ph.D.s David Bokovoy and Mark Alan Wright have contributed articles.

Bryce Haymond is our indispensable technical guru.  Robert Boylan, an independent Irish scholar, also serves on our board of editors and has contributed to our roundtable series.

It’s really good to have the involvement of younger scholars and contributors.  That’s one of the many things that make the future of Interpreter so very, very exciting.

thank you very much for all your efforts, these roundtable series is surely a great plus/ enhance to my personal scripture studies as well as making my teaching of Gospel Doctrine Class quit interesting.
