Political liberals typically claim and use the slogan, but it actually seems to me both true and (I grew up reading Russell Kirk, Robert Nisbet, Wilhelm Röpke, and similar thinkers) profoundly conservative:  “Think globally.  Act locally.”


There is always much that we can each do in our small ways.  Here are two possibilities, (sadly) very current, for easily doing some real good that will — I guarantee it — make you feel really good:
