Don’t despair! The conference will be streamed!

No, this isn’t a detail from Butchart Gardens in British Columbia.

We’ve had to close registration for the upcoming Interpreter Foundation conference on science and Mormonism.  The space in which we’ll be holding the conference has a capacity of six hundred people, and we reached that limit some time ago.

Of course, registration was free, and, even in situations where people have paid for tickets (e.g., to concerts and the like) there are always no-shows.  Moreover, some folks will undoubtedly come late and/or leave early.  So it’s very possible that unregistered people might be able to get in.  If they feel lucky that day and they’re within a reasonable distance, I would encourage them to make the attempt.  But we’ll have to give preference to those who registered.  At least at the beginning.  To do otherwise would be unfair.

However, those who wish to watch the conference but who are unable, for whatever reason, to attend will still have an alternative option:  The mechanism for watching the conference via streaming video is now up:

"Mormons to build a flagship church in Jersey City"
"The threats to religious liberty from current international conflicts"
"Saturday's Warrior," coming soon to a movie theater near you!
Atheists just happen to disbelieve in one more god than I do?

Why not move it to a larger venue?

That’s tempting and possible, but the step up to a larger room (still within the Utah Valley Convention Center) would be substantially more expensive.
