This weekend’s conference is over; another one is on the horizon.

A completely irrelevant but pretty scene from the Orem/Provo area, where the conference was held and where I live

Well, the tenth annual conference of the Society for Mormon Philosophy and Theology is now history.  It was enjoyable, though it kept me from blogging.  (It also kept me from participating in a ward service day, which I regret.)

After our board meeting early in the evening, two Latter-day Saint colleagues and I went out to dinner with a professor of New Testament studies from the Pentecostal Theological Seminary who had delivered a paper during the conference.  We had a great time, talking very openly about many issues (mostly, but not all, theological, religious, and academic).  A great guy, very friendly and good natured.  This is exactly the kind of interfaith friendship that I would like to see multiply and flourish.
