Model of City of David
The area known as the “City of David” is a finger-like promontory extending southward from the place where the temple platform came to be located. This image is of the relevant part of the superb reconstruction of Second Temple Jerusalem that can be found on the grounds of the Israel Museum (adjacent to the Shrine of the Book, which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls).  I love taking tour groups to see it; it’s a wonderful visual aid.
