Our last full day in Jordan (and it was quite full)

Our last full day in Jordan (and it was quite full) April 27, 2016

The "siq" at Petra

A quite long but very interesting day.  At least, I hope (and believe) that the people in the group found it so.

We spent the first part of the day walking in and around the ruins of Petra.  Then we drove to Wadi Rum, where much of the story of Lawrence of Arabia took place, and where the film of that name and the recent movie The Martian were both shot.  One of the people there told me that part of a new Star Wars film was also photographed there a couple of months back.  We rode in the back of trucks through the wadi and had an outdoor dinner of lamb that had been cooked by bedouins.  Good clear fun, with some grit in the teeth.
