On last night’s debate

I’m simply not interested.  I see little reason to choose between the wooden and corrupt woman and the thoughtless, ignorant, but authoritarian buffoon, given the fact that neither one cares a bit about limited government or the Constitution and that neither of them has much if anything to say about freedom.

So I enjoyed Jason Bourne last night.

In between bouts of filming here, though, I’ve looked at a bit of commentary.

I’m not a particular fan of the New York Times editorial board, but I like its take on the debate:

“An Ugly Campaign, Condensed into One Debate”

And I tend to think that these New York Times columnists (including their lone conservative, Ross Douthat) probably have it about right:

“What We Saw During the Debate”

And here’s Jay Cost, from the conservative Weekly Standard:

“At the Debate, Donald Trump Rejected Conservatism”

The consensus seems to be that Mr. Donald J. Trump performed just about the way that I expected he would.  So Jason Bourne was the better choice.
