The view in this Wikimedia Commons public domain image looks from Reggio Calabria, on the Italian mainland, across to Sicily. The still-active volcano Mount Etna is plainly visible in the distance.

We in the United States haven’t quite reached such a highly progressed state. Not yet. But give us time!

I suspect that suicide is just another right — like abortion and same-sex marriage — that’s waiting to be discovered by a judge, implied between the lines of the shadow of the penumbra of the living Constitution.
