I’m very proud of Senator Jeff Flake (R), the (Latter-day Saint) junior senator from Arizona.

He never endorsed Donald Trump, for example.

He’s a principled conservative.

And he gave a very good talk not long ago to an audience (including me) at a meeting of BYU’s International Center for Law and Religion Studies:

In the following link, there’s a video interview with him at the annual Congressional baseball game, back on 14 June.  He was among those at the Republican team practice who had come under armed attack the previous day from a deranged fan of Senator Bernie Sanders; several people were injured, including Steve Scalise (R-LA), the House Majority Whip, who was critically wounded.

The interview is well worth watching.  He comes across very well.

But what interests me in this link is the text of the article, which describes Senator Flake’s very classy response to anti-Muslim bigotry directed against a woman who seeks to take his place in the Senate of the United States:

If I could, I would vote for Senator Flake in a heartbeat.

I’m sorry, but I forgotten who brought this item to my notice.  I’m grateful for it.
