Sometimes, the truth is tough to hear, and when Don Lemon was confronted with the cold, hard facts that CNN peddles fake news, the anchor ran to his safe space live on air.

Triggering Lemon was the great conservative talker Paris Dennard who was pointing out that in the last eight years, CNN wasn’t obsessing over the cost of protecting the Obama family like it’s currently doing for the Trumps. Dennard rightly dubbed this sudden outrage as fake news and Lemon completely lost it.

Dennard reminded Lemon that President Trump isn’t breaking any laws by requiring a security team to follow him and his family everywhere they go. After all, he IS the president. But Lemon was rubbed too raw by the accusation and cut the segment short and stormed off the set.

This is what happens when journalistic integrity is replaced with partisanship. CNN has gone for too long unchecked and the reality is coming back to bite them. Lemon felt his integrity was questioned by Dennard who defined “fake news” as “What we are doing right now.”

So, Lemon tried defending himself and the mainstream media, claiming no one he knows has intentionally tried to deceive anyone. Lemon wants the “stupid talking point” of fake news to be dropped, at least when it’s aimed at him. He told Dennard, “If you don’t want to participate in the new stories on this network, then don’t come on and participate. But don’t call them fake because you don’t agree with them.”

Dennard tried to explain in more detail why hitting Trump on security expenses and not when Obama did the same thing was fake news, but Lemon just shut the whole thing down and walked off.

Lemon can’t see, or better, doesn’t want to see the he and his colleagues have replaced factual reporting with personal opinion. You can’t run away from the truth any longer, Don. Your secret is out, and the 2016 election told you what the American people think of your “reporting.”

You guys  might remember when I was on his show?  He pressed me in an interview on law enforcement deaths, but I held my ground even though he wanted me to storm off set. He must still be punch drunk from that interview.
