Epic fail, at a Christmas pageant…
Incredibly, no one was hurt during this camel catastrophe — though I imagine the poor creature’s pride was wounded.
Details, from the Palm Beach Post:
Lula Bell didn’t mean to become the star of First Baptist Church’s Christmas pageant dress rehearsal on Thursday evening.
But when a 1,000-pound camel and its rider topple into the pews, it’s impossible not to take notice.
Maybe it was stage fright: The appearance at the West Palm Beach church on Flagler Drive was apparently Lula Bell’s first gig.
Or maybe it was a bum front right knee that worship pastor Chuck Lewis said had been bothering her.
But instead of folding into a sitting position (called “cushing”), Lula Bell balked, then stumbled and fell to her right, knocking the third wise man into the horrified audience.
No one was injured, including Lula Bell and her rider, Alex James, said Lewis, who is the producer of the pageant and benefit concert, called Project Christmas.
“Everybody’s OK,” Lewis said Friday. “That’s the most important thing.”
