Delicious:

West Deptford food packaging company has taken the plain pizza box and converted it into a welcome banner for Pope Francis in commemoration of his visit to Philadelphia later this month.

Amanda Farese, director of marketing for Savona-Stavola — a company that provides food packaging products — has used her artistic abilities to create original artwork for pizzerias and restaurants in the South Jersey andPhiladelphia area.

“I’ve always loved art, and this gave me an opportunity to showcase my art to the millions of people living in the area and the millions who plan on visiting to see the pope in September,” she said.

Farese, a Marlton native, says her marketing team wanted to do something special for the pope’s visit. “I thought about holiday boxes and thought it would be fun and easy to design something specifically for the pope’s visit,” she said.

“What better way to welcome the pope than with a pizza?”

The pizza boxes became available to customers of Savona-Stavola on Aug. 21. Since then, the company has been having trouble keeping them stocked in their warehouse.

“Savona-Stavola has already received enthusiastic support from its many customers and has shipped a large percentage of its first pressing of a million boxes and is in the middle of pressing another million,” said Director of Culinary Innovation Greg Fierro.
