Peace Is Yours: Here’s How

Peace Is Yours: Here’s How February 22, 2017

Underneath every feeling of unhappiness is a belief that you don’t deserve joy.

This may sounds like a radical statement when there seem to be endless catalysts for unhappiness in this world.

You may see the source of your unhappiness as financial stress, marital conflict, health problems, issues with your children, a lack of hope about the planet.

But if we trace those feelings back to their root, they always lead to the same place: a personal fear that we don’t deserve happiness in the first place.

How is this possible? Because any time we anchor our joy in something outside ourselves—a relationship, status, a bank account, world peace—we are unmoored from the true source of joy: our remembrance of the Divine.

The part of our mind that looks to external circumstances or material goods for happiness is not the mind we share with God. It’s our fear-based mind, the part of us that forgets our divine heritage and exists in a constant state of unworthiness.

This is why joy is always only a thought away, no matter what situation we may be in.

Even if you’re in the middle of an argument or contentious meeting or you’re feeling attacked, you can go inside to your internal guidance and remember your grandeur as a child of God.

You can access the comfort of the Divine.

You can let go of the situation or conflict and return to forgiveness, the shortest path to peace.

You can access the still waters that are the essence of your being.

A Course in Miracles says, “No one who truly seeks the peace of God can fail to find it…the peace of God is yours.”

Today, claim what you already have.

Several times throughout the day, stop for 30 seconds to close your eyes, turn inside, ask for your fear-based thoughts to be healed and feel the peace of God flowing over and in you.

This is true happiness, and it’s available to you always. The more of a habit it becomes, the more joyful your life will be.

Blessings,

Deb
