Glenn Beck loves historical revisionism, but now he is revising his own history. He told James Robison that the real reason he left Fox News was because God told him that if he didn’t leave, he would lose his soul.
Beck rose to prominence with his emotional, stream-of-consciousness invectives aimed at the left and President Barack Obama. But it was these kinds of warnings that drove him off of the cable airwaves, said the Rev. James Robison, a televangelist and founder of Life Outreach International.
“The primary reason that he left is because they were not comfortable with him talking about God and Jesus as often and as freely as he did,” said Robison, who participated in Beck’s presentation.
On the day he decided to leave, Beck said he walked up to a floor-to-ceiling window in his New York apartment and asked his wife, “How could this possibly be God’s plan?”
“As I stood there, the Lord whispered to me, ‘If you do not leave now, you will lose your soul,’” Beck said. “It was the easiest decision I’ve ever made.”
Fox News and Mercury Radio Arts, Glenn Beck’s production company, are proud to announce that they will work together to develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the Fox News Channel as well as content for other platforms including Fox News’ digital properties. Glenn intends to transition off of his daily program, the third highest-rated in all of cable news, later this year.
So back then it was ending one show to continue working for the company on other projects; now he had to leave because of a prophetic warning from God. Hey, whatever makes the rubes clap and cry.
