A new Gallup poll finds atheists on the bottom of the list when it comes to who Americans would vote for. 54% of Americans say they would vote for an atheist, while 43% would not. That’s below even Muslims, who got 58%. Those were the only groups below 60%. Joseph Farah makes an amusingly idiotic argument in response:
The Gallup poll this month asked Americans if they would vote for an atheist for president – and 54 percent said they would.
Some found this shocking.
We already knew this.
In 2008, 52.9 percent voted for Barack Obama – and that’s well within the margin of error on the Gallup poll.
I know what you’re going to say.
“Obama’s not an atheist! He says he’s a Christian.”
He’s a “Christian” who made his profession of faith in Jeremiah Wright’s church of hate and indignation. Excuse me, that’s not Christianity. That’s politics. It’s liberation theology. It’s Marxism with a few doses of opiates for the masses. To be a Christian means to make Jesus the Lord of your life.
Does anyone reading this column believe Barack Obama has made that commitment? Does anyone believe Barack Obama makes decisions based on what Jesus taught?
But it’s all God’s will, you see. He’s punishing us through Obama:
I have no doubt that Obama’s reign of terror over the last four years has been a judgment on the U.S. – one that God allowed to happen. It’s not what He wanted for us. He wants us to turn back to Him. And throughout history, He has often used tyrants to accomplish that kind of spiritual revival.
So if it’s God’s will that Obama be in power, isn’t Farah trying to thwart that will with his crusade to have Obama declared ineligible and removed from office?
