In retrospect, this seems kind of inevitable, a marriage made in wingnut heaven. Ted Nugent is joining the Worldnutdaily’s growing list of has-been celebrity halfwit commentators, which already includes Chuck Norris, Victoria Jackson, Pat Boone and John Rocker. And Joseph Farah is pleased as he could be:
“Ted Nugent rocks,” said Joseph Farah, editor and chief executive officer of WND. “And I don’t mean just as a music star. He rocks as an outspoken entertainer who is so politically incorrect. We’re honored that he would choose WND to sound off about what’s on his mind every week.”
Did you catch that? He rocks because he’s “so politically incorrect.” Not because he’s intelligent or thoughtful or careful to support all of his positions rationally. Just because he’s “politically incorrect.” That is the only thing Farah cares about, not accuracy or intellect. And one wonders how Farah squares his pro-military stance with the fact that Nugent shit his pants to get out of joining the military and called soldiers a bunch of idiots. Or how he squares his constant moral crusade with the fact that Nugent became the legal guardian of an underage girl so he could keep having sex with her.
Oh, who am I kidding? He doesn’t square those things because he doesn’t care. All he cares about, as he made clear, is that Ted is “politically incorrect.”
