Scarborough Reminisces About Locking Up Gays

Bigoted theocrat Rick Scarborough delivered a sermon at a church in New Jersey that was full of all the usual stupidity, including conflating being gay with being a pedophile. He also fondly reminisced about the days when they could put gay people in prison, which he says was based on the Bible (he’s wrong; it says to kill them, not imprison them).

About Ed Brayton

After spending several years touring the country as a stand up comedian, Ed Brayton tired of explaining his jokes to small groups of dazed illiterates and turned to writing as the most common outlet for the voices in his head. He has appeared on the Rachel Maddow Show and the Thom Hartmann Show, and is almost certain that he is the only person ever to make fun of Chuck Norris on C-SPAN.

Ah the “good” evil old days.

.. And the vile old fools that never really left ’em in their hateful bible thumping heads.

What ever happened to the good old days when xtians were put into the arena with a bunch of lions. These days, you get arrested for cruelty to animals.

  • Marcus Ranum

I bet he’d think it was tasteless if I reminisced about the good old days when we threw christians to lions.

Thanks you just reminded me of the old Punch cartoon: “And one poor lion didn’t have a Christian”

So I’m sure if one of his daughter had sex before marriage he would get the other male members of the house together, take her to the outskirts of town and stone her, right? Because that’s what the Bible says. And if he had a son who is lame he wouldn’t allow him to defile gawd’s house of worship by going inside?

And that couch your wife sat on during her dirty time of the month, going to have to stay off it for a week. Same thing with the bed.

If you’re going to go all OT and shit, you’re going to have to go all in.

@#2 – Interesting, isn’t it? – Lions are now an endangered species and Christians flourish like weeds

Getting away from “how the bible says we should do it” is called progress. It’s a good thing.

And again, if you hate “teh ghey” so much you must get them away from you….you’re probably gay.

Oh, please! You know darn well that Jesus only kept the rules that effect groups the Popular Majority doesn’t like!

@8 It’s like that famous new testament quote “All have sinned, except us obviously”
