Jerome Corsi: Cranky Old Ideologue

Jerome Corsi, one of the founders of Swift Boat Veterans for Truth and thus well-practiced in the art of obscuring that truth, and one of the leading birthers as well, increasingly just comes across as that loudmouthed, ignorant uncle that you hate being around. To wit:

“Remember, Obama has been running for president his whole life,” World Net Daily contributor Jerome Corsi said at a conservative event in Oregon earlier this month.

“He was picked by the far left, by Alexrod,” he continued. “He was picked by the communists to be the next guy.”

“You know, he was mostly smoking dope his whole life and he didn’t need to read anything except out of a teleprompter.”

Yeah, mostly smoking dope, the lazy no-good…oh, don’t use the word you want to use, Jerome. And all this while graduating with honors from Harvard Law School, managing the law review and teaching law at the University of Chicago, also one of the finest law schools in the country.

Bleh, even if Obama wasn’t black, the primary issue is that the Democrats haven’t given everything to the large corporations. The sheer level of greed from these people is disgusting. Obama is nothing more than a slightly right of center politician that caves in to the large corporations most of the time…and that’s his only crime with these people; that he doesn’t cave in to the large corporations all the time like the Republican politicians do.

IF he’s routinely referred to as a “WND contributor,” that’s a pretty sure sign he’s marginalized himself even within the far-right circles of his target audience.

Why would the communist pick a lazy dope smoker to run for president anyway? Not to mention someone who isn’t a communist (sorry a little reality for you there). If they have so much power why not get a smart, hardworking member of the party into power and actually enact their plans.

But no they prefer to work behind the scenes by promoting a president who does not match their view either in his rhetoric or his actions.

What drives me batty is that there is so much legitimate criticism that you could level at our President that this guy could spend hours on it, and they have to make stuff up. Is it because they are so ignorant that they don’t even know the issues or is it just that they have fun making stuff up and seeing it stick with their ignorant followers?

Or are they just plain old tin foil hat wearing insane?

  • http://motherwell.livejournal.com/ Raging Bee

outraged: they can’t level any legitimate criticism at Obama without, at some point, confronting their own party’s failures. That’s why they’re constantly having to detour through insanity.

“Is it because they are so ignorant that they don’t even know the issues…”

    Yes.

“… or is it just that they have fun making stuff up and seeing it stick with their ignorant followers?”

    Yes.

“Or are they just plain old tin foil hat wearing insane?”

    Yes.

    Three runs and a WIN!!!

“Remember, Obama has been running for president his whole life,” World Net Daily contributor Jerome Corsi said at a conservative event in Oregon earlier this month.

“What’s more,” Corsi continued, “he began running for president even before his life began — just like Abraham Lincoln, who was born in a log cabin he built with his own hands.”

Yes, I made that up, and threw in a quote from Student Bloopers. Because it’s impossible to make up anything more ridiculous than what Corsi actually says.

I think that’s the part of the conspiracy theory that makes it so surreal for me: the idea that he was chosen at birth, and especially the implication that he was chosen with great specificity, like he was the Chosen One in a formulaic fantasy novel. An event no one could confidently predict a few years beforehand is retroactively made into a planned inevitability. It’s like a bad writer trying to make his villain appear clever by sloppily retconning all the heroes’ successes to be a part of his vague plan. All aboard Obama’s Magical Time Machine!

The reality is that you can try to groom children for certain roles, like monarchs and family businesses try to do with their kids, but there’s no guarantee they’ll grow up the way you want them too. What if a young Obama decided he wasn’t interested in politics? What if he rebelled against his groomers’ political ideology? What if all the attention made him lazy and spoiled?

And there’s the elephant in the room: If the conspirators wanted to groom a future president, why would they start with a baby who, if the conspiracy were true, would be ineligible, thereby necessitating a forgery, thus adding one more failure point to a plan that’s already a crapshoot? Just about any native born American baby would be a better choice, unless baby Obama had some hugely overwhelming advantage. We may not be 100% nurture, but I seriously doubt we can determine if there is a genetic factor in political skill because it’d be overshadowed by environmental factors.

Of course, the people we’re talking about don’t understand any of that, so they prefer fantasy tropes over critical thinking.

“Jerome Corsi: Lying, fucking piece-of-shit sociopath’

    Sorry, Ed, that needed fixin’.

Corsi is nothing but a money grubbing hack. His ideology and religion are both driven by the dollar.

“Of course, the people we’re talking about don’t understand any of that, so they prefer fantasy tropes over critical thinking.”

It’s not a preference when “critical thinking” is not something that they’re capable of doing.

What drives me batty is that there is so much legitimate criticism that you could level at our President that this guy could spend hours on it, and they have to make stuff up.

Their problem is that the legitimate criticisms are the parts that they like. They can’t criticize those without rejecting their own dogma (not that they don’t — see ObaMneyCare — but there are limits to the revisionism.)

  • Doug Little

He was picked by the communists to be the next guy.

See this is the problem, this comment right here should make anybody with a functioning brain turn away and label him as a kook and revoke his pulpit privileges.

Well, that’s a rightwingism too. They think if you raise your kids with enough Bible and enough beatings, and keep them away from “corrupting influences” (any societal advance since the McKinley presidency) they’ll turn out perfect little drones (Google ‘train up a child’). So, projecting, they think there’s some way the evil Communists can use evil Communist science to do the same.

  • vmanis1

Did he actually say `Alexrod’??? Can’t they even get the names correct? Or is Alexrod a demon related to Sol Alinksy, who is often mentioned in illiterate Tea Party blogs?

Bronze Dog@8, I figure it like this:

A Commie Scientist and a Kenyan shaman determined that the mix of genes from his hand-selected parents would produce the perfect Manchurian candidate. He had to be born in Kenya for obscure scientific and magical reasons, so they faked his birth in the Hawaiian hospital at that time. Of course they didn’t retroactively forge the birth certificate – don’t be silly! His mother was given a flu shot so she would develop cancer and die (can’t risk her developing white guilt as she grew older and confessing all). Young B. Hussein was given a “cosmopolitan” experience so he would have more sympathy to foreigners and liberals than to Real Americans. Educated in evolutionism, climate “science”, and Constitutional law (amendments one, and three through ten only), his cold intellect and shiftless nature combined to form the most dangerous of presidents – a liberal whose only faults were shared with GOP politicians. An evil plan indeed.

    Freehand,

Nice synopsis, you forgot two parts though:

    2. ?????

    3. PROFIT!!!!

They’d have gotten away with it to, if it hadn’t been for those pesky birthers and their dog!

  • pacal

Mr. Corsi. Why are you such a liar? What is the source of your compulsion to lie and lie and lie? What inner need is satisfied by your compulsive, pathological lying?
