In a brilliant move to make himself seem smarter and less irritating than he usually is, Tucker Carlson fell asleep on live television while co-hosting the Fox and Friends morning show. For once, I’m really glad I’m not making this up and that it actually happened.
After host Alisyn Camerota finished reading the top headlines at around 7:30 a.m. ET, the cameras returned to the studio where Carlson was soundly sleeping on the infamous “curvy couch.”
“I don’t think we’re being good co-hosts right now,” Camerota quietly giggled, rousing Carlson from his slumber.
“I know we’re not on television so it doesn’t bother me,” Carlson said as he stretched. “Is this honestly live?”…
Carlson explained that he was more tired than usual because he had hosted Sean Hannity’s Fox News show the night before.
“And all of the sudden, I was having these happy thoughts and I dosed off,” he said. “Is this honestly on TV? I’m just going to roll with it.”
Producers were thrilled, saying he was never as coherent while awake as he was when he was sleeping. A spin-off show is now planned, with nothing but footage of Carlson sleeping. If viewers tune in and see him sleeping, they might assume he was dead and ratings would skyrocket.
