As the American Humanist Association goes to court in Massachusetts over the phrase “under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance, Fox News contributors are predictably outraged and making the kind of arguments that would be embarrassing in an old AOL chatroom.
“I’m tired of them,” Perino complained on Wedneday. “I remember working at the Justice Department years ago when I first started right after 9/11 and a lawsuit like this came through, and before the day had finished, the United States Senate and the House of Representatives had both passed resolutions saying that they were for keeping ‘under God’ in the pledge.”
“If these people really don’t like it, they don’t have to live here,” she added.
“Yeah, that’s a good point,” co-host Bob Beckel agreed.
“If you don’t believe then why do you care?” Perino wondered. “It’s just like some guy’s name.”
You know what I’m tired of? Dana Perino and her ignorant blathering. And Bob Beckel, Fox News’ token Democrat and obedient little lapdog. And I’m really tired of these people thinking that they alone own America and that everyone else should just be quiet and let them do whatever they want. I’m tired of Christian privilege and those who drape themselves in it.
