Fischer’s Bigoted Version of ‘Love’

Bryan Fischer delivers a diatribe about how much he loves gay people, how he’s sad when he sees them “falling prey to that disease; there’s a sickness there, there is a pathology associated with homosexual behavior.” Then he diagnoses millions of people he’s never met:

“You know, these are not happy people. They are not well-adjusted people and it just breaks your heart to see what this perverted sense of sexuality is doing to them” because it is “destroying their humanity.”

Really, Bryan? I know lots of happy, well-adjusted gay people. And lots of unhappy, seriously disturbed and messed up straight people. But it would never occur to me that I should tell those people that they should change their sexuality because I “love” them. The only one with a perverted sense of sexuality here is you.

About Ed Brayton

After spending several years touring the country as a stand up comedian, Ed Brayton tired of explaining his jokes to small groups of dazed illiterates and turned to writing as the most common outlet for the voices in his head. He has appeared on the Rachel Maddow Show and the Thom Hartmann Show, and is almost certain that he is the only person ever to make fun of Chuck Norris on C-SPAN.

Oh homophobic grandpa. You so silly! There’s only one version of homosexuality!

  • Chiroptera

They are not well-adjusted people and it just breaks your heart to see what this perverted sense of sexuality is doing to them” because it is “destroying their humanity.”

Funny. I kind of feel bad for conservatives for the same reason: their perverted sense of human nature and ethics pretty much seems to destroy their humanity.

These gay haters obsess more on gay sex than any gay person I know. Who’s the sick one in a picture like that?

  • Synfandel

    Chiroptera @2:

    Ooh! Snap!

  • theguy

The damn Christofascists teach gay people to hate themselves. That’s the only reason why gay people wouldn’t be “well adjusted.”

If Adolf Fishsticks really “loved” gay people, then he wouldn’t (falsely) accuse gay people of being pedophiles or for being responsible for the Holocaust.

Actually, Bryan, gay people can be rather… …gay. [rim shot!]

Ha! I thought it up on my own. Damn, I’m good.

What he meant to say was

“You know, I am not a happy person. I am not well-adjusted and it just breaks your heart to see what this perverted sense of sexuality is doing to me because it is destroying my humanity.”

    Is this Bryan projecting again?

I think there’s still a residue of Judeo-Christian values in the American people…

Is it a sticky residue? That’s just what’s left after Jesus comes into your heart.

As it’s happening he promises that he’ll always love you.

But then he never calls… never writes…

    …and he never comes again.
