Barr: We Will Be Future Heroes

One of the speakers at Larry Klayman’s little pretend revolution was Bob Barr, who seems to have recovered from his momentary lapse of un-reason in 2008 and is back to being a total idiot. He told the crowd that they would all be viewed as heroes in the future.

“Be it remembered that it started here today, November 19, 2013, just as it did on November 5, 1997, that Americans for generations to come will look back and say, ‘yes, good and faithful servants, you did your duty.’ We thank you and we will carry that torch forever into the future.”

No, Bob. No one will remember this nonsense at all other than those who are pointing and laughing.

A small gathering of the right-wing fringe at a Washington park will not be remembered next year, let alone generations from now.

Wait. What happened on November 5, 1997? Does anybody regard anyone involved with it as heroes?

  • dingojack

OK help me out here (IASF) what ‘earth-shattering’ and ‘memorable’ event was supposed to have occurred on November 5, 1997?*

What happened on November 5, 1997?

French court ordered producer Jacques Charrier, ex-husband of Brigitte Bardot, to pay the former screen star $8,300 in damages.

Bill Clinton said, “If (Saddam Hussein) has nothing to hide, if he’s not trying to develop weapons of mass destruction, then he shouldn’t care whether Americans or anyone else are on the inspection team.”

I’ve already been beaten to The Gunpowder Plot.

November 5, 1997 was Bob Barr’s 49th birthday, is that it?

Man, that was some party. We didn’t leave the Applebee’s until quarter after eleven.

  • Al Dente

So Barr is right. November 19, 2013 will be remember exactly the same way November 5, 1997 is remembered.

I thought it might have had something to do with the impeachment of Clinton, but I can’t find anything on that date.

  • http://saltycurrent.blogspot.com SC (Salty Current), OM

    From the RWW link:

Barr, who played a major role in President Bill Clinton’s impeachment, is running for Congress again and has called for investigations into whether Obama should also face impeachment.

So it must be some rally or statement or something with which Barr was involved in 1997.

I’d say it’s more likely that the reasonable libertarians had a momentary lapse and have recovered

SOMEBODY PLEASE FIGURE OUT WHAT HAPPENED ON NOVEMBER 5 1997. The suspense is killing me!

This is all I could find:

    Rep. Bob Barr: Liar-Hypocrite Extraordinaire

His first impeachment press release, dated Nov. 5, 1997 (yes, 2-1/2 months before we heard of Monica Lewinsky), closes by saying Barr “previously served as United States Attorney in Atlanta, where he prosecuted numerous cases involving public corruption.

Could there be any deep significance to the banner ad at the top of this page? Does “Get rid of rats and mice” relate to the subject matter?

SLC – perhaps Mr Barr turned into a mouse (or rat) on Nov 5th ,1997? * Just a guess.

Argh!! RWW YouTube account has been terminated again for DMCA. They really need to sue these bastards for filing false DMCA’s. I thought it was a crime, be nice to see these guys in jail.

    @17:

I have no idea about how it gets done but couldn’t RWW just have the videos on their own webpage?

  • caseloweraz

BCReason: Argh!! RWW YouTube account has been terminated again for DMCA.

Was it the same people complaining? Or is there an organized effort to hammer RWW with complaints?

Demo: I have no idea about how it gets done but couldn’t RWW just have the videos on their own webpage?

They could, but a large number of videos such as their collection would need lots of fast storage. Then there’s the need to serve multiple requests at once, so add in a server farm to keep up. The hardware costs mount rapidly, and I’m not sure there’s open-source software to do the whole job of managing the system. Then of course there’s the need to hire someone to get it running.

It would be nowhere close to the “ObamaCare” Web site in cost, but probably still more than RWW can afford.

It’s Gordon Klingenschitt, who’s unhappy that RWW is showing the batshit crazy stuff he says. YouTube’s system is part of the problem, as it’s take-down first, ask questions later, if at all.
