Wave Goodbye to Liz Cheney

Liz Cheney has decided to end her primary insurgence against incumbent Sen. Mike Enzo of Wyoming, but only because of unspecified “serious health issues” that have “recently arisen” in her family. It’s totally not because she was polling really badly and had no chance of winning.

Citing health concerns in her family, Cheney said the issues arising prompted her to end her GOP primary challenge to Sen. Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.).

“Serious health issues have recently arisen in our family, and under the circumstances, I have decided to discontinue my campaign. My children and their futures were the motivation for our campaign and their health and well-being will always be my overriding priority,” Cheney said in the statement.

“Serious health issues have recently arisen in our family, and under the circumstances, I have decided to discontinue my campaign. My children and their futures were the motivation for our campaign and their health and well-being will always be my overriding priority,” Cheney said in the statement…

Republicans — including some Cheney supporters — privately expressed surprise at Cheney’s move, though she is also said to have been discouraged by Enzi’s persistent polling lead and apparent determination to buck pressure to retire.

Buh bye now. Unfortunately, it won’t be the last we’ve heard or or from her. Those serious health issues certainly won’t keep her from spewing her noxious opinions on Fox News.

I wonder who got sick (of hearing her whine, maybe)?

It was the GAYZ! Their evil agenda again destroys a fine, upstanding PATRIOT by pointing out what a bigot she is!

  • tbp1

In real world terms, it probably doesn’t matter much. I doubt she would have voted differently on much of anything than the incumbent. Still, there’s a bit of righteous schadenfreude here.

She decided to devote more time to fishing.

At least she has some really nice campaign swag to remember how she alienated her sister.

“Serious health issues have recently arisen in our family,”

What, the Dickster’s latest transplanted heart rejected him?

Her son was hospitalized with type 1 diabetes. He’s out now and, according to what I’ve found, stable, but, yeah, he could stand to have his mom (and dad and whoever else can help) with him. Glad to see her leave the race, though.

I am going to guess Aunt Mary and Aunt Heather will not be taking their turns as nursemaids to the lads. Just sayin’

    Jim@7,

    Liz Cheney tells truth shock?

But that really is tough on both son and mother. Though hopefully, medical advances may mean it’s not a life sentence, just as they’ve already meant it’s not a death sentence.

Is her dad’s likely to die?!? Quelle Damage!!*

“but, yeah, he could stand to have his mom (and dad and whoever else can help) with him…”

Well, if he was Mary’s son, he could have mom stay home with him while mom ran for office. Win/win!

I hope she doesn’t follow her father and take up hunting.

I hope she takes up hunting and follows him, into the woods. Then, later, when he’s out of sight and she hears a rustle that sounds llike a large mammal in the bushes, she cuts loose and FINALLY does something that we can thank her for doing.

@14: Because “humor” about someone accidentally killing his/her father are always so friggin’ hilarious. Godamn sociopath.

    @15:

Actually, dickhead, in the case of the Cheney’s it’s not completely a joke. I do wish that piece of shit was dead.

You are such a fucking crybaby–if you think that’s over the top you’re way outta your depth here, you fucking asshole.

It’s amazing to me that you are still fucking pissed over being told what a douchebag you are about what, a year and a half ago?

Go fuck yourself, you mewling weasel.

Demo – awww go on! Go the whole Shakespeare.

With allathat mewlin’ and pukin’ goin’ on, I’d be a little bit hesitant about orderin’ a milkshake.

Demo – you might be in fine fooling, but I do it more natural.
