Every time Sarah Palin opens her mouth or sits at her computer keyboard, there’s a good bet that something stupid is going to come out. On her Facebook page she wishes everyone a happy Martin Luther King day and adds on this extraneous bit of idiocy:
Happy MLK, Jr. Day!
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.
Mr. President, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. and all who commit to ending any racial divide, no more playing the race card.
When exactly has President Obama ever “played the race card”? And what does it even mean to “play the race card”? To suggest that racism still exists. To speak in Palin’s favored vernacular: Golly gee, imagine that. Racism does still exist, youbetcha *wink*. This is almost certainly in response to a perfectly accurate and reasonable statement from Obama in a recent interview with the New Yorker, where he said:
“There’s no doubt that there’s some folks who just really dislike me because they don’t like the idea of a black President,” Obama said. “Now, the flip side of it is there are some black folks and maybe some white folks who really like me and give me the benefit of the doubt precisely because I’m a black President.”
Wow, what a shocking use of the “race card.” Seriously Sarah Palin, can you just shut up now?
