‘Coach’ Dave: Ban Hollywood

“Coach” Dave Daubenmire has another loud, shouty video advocating authoritarian solutions. This time he wants to ban Hollywood because “children model what they see.” Isn’t that true? I can’t tell you how many times as a kid I strapped an Acme rocket to my back after seeing Wile E. Coyote do it.

First Amendment? Never heard of it…

Part of the plan of that limited government ‘baggers favor so much.

Anyone else think ‘coach’ took one too many hits to the noggin?

Kids can pretty much tell reality from not. With all the hype about kids, safety and the internet, there are almost zero cases of kids being preyed upon by wackjobs. Kids know enough to just click the mouse and get rid of the doofus, yet if you believe the police, thousands of kiddies are being hypnotized into being sex slaves. Sounds kind of like the rock and roll evil from the sixties and seventies.

Video games are turning our children into psycho killers, rock music is turning them into commie pinko bastards. Same story that we’ve been fed for fifty years. The only difference now is that parents are buying into it and the government is really trying hard to do something about it, because, well, the children. Back in the day, the first amendment seemed stronger.

All I know is that hearing about how dangerous rock and roll was only made us want to find out more. I wonder if the internet hype is making kids more curious about the seedy side? I know I sure would have been exploring had it been around when I was a lad. (Not that I am tempted now. No sir. Grown up I have. Wouldn’t go looking for the world. Nope. Nothing to see here.)

I’m thinking three words too many.

If I could have gotten an Acme rocket…

Hollywood… where the rap music comes from….and is that a woodland camo baseball cap with a crucifix on it?

I do wonder, however, whether this country would remain desensitized to violence if the portrayals of shootings in the media were more graphic & realistic than they are right now or whether people would just get off on it.

“I can’t tell you how many times as a kid I strapped an Acme rocket to my back after seeing Wile E. Coyote do it.”

Well there was that ill-fated sky-dive from my second-story bedroom with the bed-sheet parachute. To be fair, I was only 35.

I actually watched the whole video because I curious about the logistics behind this. How exactly was ex-couch Dave proposing to “ban Hollywood”? But I guess that little detail wasn’t important enough for him to address. He’s just the idea man! Someone else has to come up with the project plan.

Damn. “ex-Coach”, not “Couch”. I can’t even think of a good joke for that.

As a kid, I wanted to go to school with a can of spinach to school under my shirt like Popeye, but my mother used frozen rather than canned spinach, which was very uncomfortable, even if it did fit better.

I’m sure people in places like Vancouver and Toronto would jump with joy if Hollywood was banned. In fact the Canadian government should be supporting Coach Dave’s crusade. The economic benefits would be enormous.

It’s true I only watched a tiny bit of this video and now I want to be an ignorant blowhard in a baseball cap with a cross on it.

Might as well, Vancouver has already killed off the LA post production industry with subsidies resulting in the forced relocation of workers, the next logical step is to try to relocate the movie studios themselves.

Shouldn’t cost more than a few extra billion.
