Beck Thinks Hutcherson Helped Seakawks Win Super Bowl

Glenn Beck apparently thinks that his old friend Ken Hutcherson, a former NFL player and exactly the kind of authoritarian, anti-gay bigot that Beck says he doesn’t know any of, helped the Seattle Seahawks win the Super Bowl (Hutcherson played for the Seahawks long ago).

Okay Glenn, what did he do exactly? Did he make take over Peyton Manning’s body and make him throw an interception? Did he give the Seahawks players extra speed and strength? And how exactly did he do those things? Can dead people control the actions of living people? What possible evidence would there be for that? Oh, silly me. Evidence doesn’t matter to Glenn Beck.

Can dead people control the actions of living people?

Yes. One example – Karl Marx over Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin.

Evidence – Marx’s idea of communism and the dictators attempts to put it into practice

    .

Of course, that’s not exactly sporting is it?

    “Seakawks”

    Ha!

  • gshelley

Maybe Seattle won because SSM is legal there and god wanted to send the message that he approves

    Re StevoR @ #1

Actually, Marx would not have recognized the system that Lenin and Stalin installed in the former Soviet Union which was not Socialism or Communism at all as he designed it but state capitalism. Don’t believe it, just ask any Trotskyite.

  • Moggie

To be fair, he does say this is crazy.

^ Come to think o’ it dead people (& even dead cultures) imposing ideas / ideology / religion over living ones is kinda the whole point of the religion meme ain’t it?

Which doesn’t mean it has any working effect in sporting contests natch.

Besides how can Beck say it was his old friend Ken Hutcherson and not say the spirit of Rachel Carson cheering on the ospreys she loved and noted their decline due to DDT use instead?

If a dead person can play better football than he did at the peak of his career as a living person, then it could just as easily be someone who couldn’t play football at all whose ghost took the ‘Seakawks’ to victory. Why, perhaps it was Kurt Cobain!

35-0, yeah THAT’s the crazy part, Glenn.

@ 4. colnago80 : Are there any Trotskyites still left around to ask?

@3.gshelley :I’d like to think so, yeah! (I don’t -but I’d like to.)

    Gawd. Check and mate, atheists!

@StevoR – “Are there any Trotskyites still left around to ask?”

Yup. Last November, Seattle inexplicably elected one to the City Council. She is a leader of the Socialist Alternative cell, which openly describes itself as Trotskyite.

But pot is legal in Denver. Uh oh.

  • matty1

@11 So that’s the massive communist influence on the US I hear about? Amazing one city councillor and she apparently controls the federal government and the media.

    Re StevoR @ #9

Way back a millions years ago when I was an undergraduate at Berkeley, the Trotskyites had their own party, the Socialist Worker’s Party. A number of the neocons in the US are or were former Trotskyites, e.g. Norman Podhoretz, Irving Kristol, David Horowitz, etc.

I’m surprised no one has suggested yet that the reason Colorado lost was because of gay marriage.

  • a_ray_in_dilbert_space

    StevoR,

Huh? What did the so-called communist state in Russia have to do with anything Marx wrote. Even prior to his death, he disavowed what “Marxism” had become.

  • roggg

If he’s right, does that constitute cheating? I mean he’s omnipotent and all, and he’s not even on the roster…

  • sigurd jorsalfar

roggg, I was thinking the same thing. This cries out for a Senate investigation.

  • dingojack

sigurd jorsalfar – or at very least DEFUNDING (multiple times, just to sure*) or even [grasps pearls] IMPEACHMENT!?!.

Quick, let’s form a posse commitus and lead 250,000 dead marines** to surround the White House! (And levitate it?)

    Wingnut madlibs are fun!

I’d be more likely to believe that Hendrix was helping out the team in rewards for Washington State also legalizing weed.

Eric (#12) – yes but god was way, way too stoned to help Denver (besides Cheetos man, Cheetos!)…

  • Wylann

Well, pot is legal in WA too, so that’s a wash.

  • marcus

I just don’t understand it. we have the John Denver song “Thank God I’m A Country Boy”, we got the best pot, and the best skiing.

Oh God, why hast thou forsaken us?

@11.Gregory in Seattle & #14. colnago80 : Thanks for that -something new I’ve learnt today.

Did he really? Okay that’s another new thing I’ve learnt today too then – bonus!

Still while Marx may have disowned them the Soviet state certainly didn’t disown him and thought it was following his model so, yeah, still Marxist communist in their minds and most others even if Marx himself thought otherwise.
