Bachmann: God Will Cause Obamacare Repeal

Michele Bachmann went on the radio with Sandy Rios and said that God is going to give Republicans control of the Senate so they can repeal Obamacare. She does realize that unless they have a veto-proof majority, which sure as hell isn’t happening, that isn’t going to work, right?

Hmmm. I would think if god really wanted to get rid of Obamacare, he, she or it wouldn’t have let Obama win reelection.

Her God loves Americans so much that He wants them to have the least cost-effective and the most easily withdrawn healthcare in the developed world. She hasn’t really thought this through, has she?

“God doesn’t want the poor to have access to affordable health care. I mean, it’s not like Jesus ever healed anyone.”

Exhibit #24,567,568 indicating that Michelle Bachmann is delusional and a horrible person.

Michele’s god is a big wuss who can’t seem to do anything. He couldn’t stop ObamaCare. He couldn’t prevent Obama’s election. He couldn’t deliver the Senate to the GOP in 2012. And, despite nonstop prayer groups in California, he couldn’t fill our reservoirs with water — although our farmers are some of the most devout god-botherers in the world. Clay idols have as good a track record as Michele’s god! (And no, I didn’t mean idols of Aiken.)

Look, Jesus said to take care of the poor, but He never said anything about providing poor people with children basic medical coverage. And He never said nothing about the working poor, or about those with preexisting conditions who don’t get their coverage through their employer, Medicare or Tricare.

Very likely (and she’s actually the only Congressperson were I wouldn’t say “definitely”), but that’s not the point. Her point is, by publicly “putting her faith in God” she earns cookie points with her supporters – and makes it harder for other Republicans to attack her. After all, which Republican could afford, in the current climate, to go on record as stating “God will not help us repeal Obamacare”? In the eyes of the Teabaggers, that already amounts to blasphemy.

Sadly, I would have to say, no, she doesn’t know that this isn’t going to work. The most hopeful models I’ve seen for the Republicans has them winning four seats currently held by Democrats and losing none, which would still leave the Democrats in control of the Senate, 49-49 w/2 caucusing with the Democrats. That she thinks they would be able to pass a repeal without a filibuster is amusing. That she seems to forget (or not know) that the president still has the power to veto such legislation is truly sad.

With some of the Tea Party nuts in congress I get the impression that they’re lying to stir up the rubes (Cruz, Paul, etc.), but with her, I think she really is that stupid.

the only fucking thing I want to hear about Michelle Bachmann is what is the latest on the indictment filed against her.

Is that the same god that wanted her to be president? That worked.

dogmeat “That she seems to forget (or not know) that the president still has the power to veto such legislation is truly sad.”

Darrell Issa is already planning to conduct closed-door hearings in to how so-called “president” Obama’s so-called “veto” effected the IRS investigating conservative 501s and also how many people “his” “veto” got killed in Benghazi. And don’t worry about them being closed door. Rep Issa will release misleading snippets to help you draw the right conclusions.

    @Nora, #1:

Obama won’t get reelected again, god is definitely putting his foot down this time. Praise the lord and pass the ammunition.

dogmeat = where might one find these models? What is the worst and best possible outcome (for each major party)? And what is the median result (for both major parties)?

    Thanks.

    Regarding what Bachmann thinks:

In the immortal words of Nancy Pelosi, “Who cares?”

  • thalwen

God isn’t a member of the House or Senate, so he doesn’t get a vote. He is a major troll though – telling all those stupid wingnuts to run for President simultaneously for his and our amusement.

Bachmann hasn’t had a coherent thought in a long time. She is a very incompetent parrot.

Mike – “Bachmann hasn’t had a coherent thought in a long time.”

Per’aps she’s pining for the fjords.

This is the same god that promised she would be President? And later changed his mind and decreed that Romney would be President? That god?

  • shay

You do realize this is Michele Bachmann we’re talking about, right?

(oh, and one Internetz to dingojack).

  • Al Dente

But Obama will resign his presidensity on May 16th when the Operation American Spring protest takes place. Harry Riley, the protest organizer, told some RWN radio host that his efforts are “bathed in prayer.” So God is taking care of that part as well.

  • eamick

Sadly, I would have to say, no, she doesn’t know that this isn’t going to work.

The Republicans aren’t even likely to get a veto-proof majority in the House, for that matter.

So just out of curiosity, how many people’s supposedly inviolable free will would God have to violate in order to fix an election? Or does he preserve free will by straight-up ballot rigging? Or is this nonsense?

  • mordred

And another prediction that will probably fail. How many more till the people listening to these clowns get that their god does not work the way they want him, or simply does not exist?

  • dingojack

Converting from Wingnut to English, Bachmann said:

We can’t get anything even close to a majority to vote the way we want, it turns out people are coming to see our ‘the-sky-is-falling’ rhetoric as laughable, and besides, they kinda like this cheaper, better healthcare system – it’s hopeless. Send me more money & vote for me, rubes !
