The Dumbest Thing Said About Michael Sam

One could spend hours on end, maybe days, reciting all of the egregiously stupid things that have been said by Christian bigots about Michael Sam, but it’s going to be pretty hard to top this inane column by Sylvia Thompson at Alan Keyes’ Renew America website.

I was irritatingly reminded, once again, of just how degenerate our nation has become. I read recently that a football player for the Miami Dolphins, Don Jones, was fined and castigated for voicing his revulsion at the sight of a fellow teammate, Michael Sam, in a lustful display of homosexual eroticism.

Okay, first of all, Michael Sam is not a teammate of Don Jones. He plays for the St. Louis Rams, not the Miami Dolphins. Secondly, I’m sure every time Thompson sees a straight couple kiss she screams out “OMG, it’s a lustful display of heterosexual eroticism!” Or not.

Michael Sam is the latest black pawn of the homosexual movement.

As a black person, I can relate to a factor that I think has bearing, at least in part, on Mr. Jones’ revulsion. Not only was this erotic display sinfully sick, but it also involved another black male athlete. I recall the earlier “coming out” of a basketball player who was also black. The predominantly white Left was as ecstatic then as it is now (so was Barack Obama). It seems obvious to me, and maybe to Mr. Jones as well, that the Left’s championing of non-male black men is part of its ongoing plan to destroy black America, in this case, by emasculating its men.

So. Much. Stupid. Notice how she completely dehumanizes Michael Sam himself. He’s not a human being with his own identity and agency, he’s just a “pawn” of the “white left.” And what in the name of all that is holy does “non-male black men” mean? Michael Sam is gay; that doesn’t make him “non-male” except to bigoted morons like Sylvia Thompson.

    “The predominantly white Left…”

As opposed to that Blank Panther meeting known as the Right…

  • colnago80

He plays for the St. Louis Rams, not the Miami Dolphins.

Actually, as we sit here today, he doesn’t play for the Rams. He still has to make the team, not a forgone conclusion. Precis of scouting reports claim that he is too short to play defensive end and not quick enough to play middle linebacker. From what I am able to gather, not being in any way, shape, form, or regard an expert in the subject, it appears to me that his best position would be nose guard in a 3-4 defense.

  • scienceavenger

So a brief kiss = “a lustful display of homosexual eroticism” to this woman? I’ll bet she’s a thrill a minute at parties.

  • pocketnerd

“Michael Sam, in a lustful display of homosexual eroticism…”

Man. The wingnuts always make being queer sound so damn exciting. Listening to them, you’d think every day was a sex pile coated in baby oil. Maybe I should start dating some nice repressed Tea Party boy. They do have plenty of bears…

  • Pen

..she completely dehumanizes Michael Sam himself

Yup. Heaven forbid he should have a life. He’s just a cultural symbol and her cultural property. If he’s not doing Black right, it must be because someone’s stolen him.

  • Loqi

Yes, only now is it becoming degenerate. Remind me again on what day most American football games occur. And remind me what those 10 things in the bible that you must never, ever do are.

    2012 Presidential Election

Percent of voters by racial category:

    Obama:

    White: 28.08%

    Black: 12.09%

    Hispanic: 7.1%

    Asian: 2.19%

    Other: 1.16%

    Romney:

    White: 42.48%

    Black: 0.78%

    Hispanic: 2.7%

    Asian: 0.78%

    Other: 0.76%

Rmoney sure kept quiet about his (even stronger than Obama) connections with the ‘largely White Left’.

If he’s a non-male black man, does that mean he’s actually heterosexual? This raises so many questions. Stupid, stupid questions.

  • cptdoom

It seems obvious to me, and maybe to Mr. Jones as well, that the Left’s championing of non-male black men is part of its ongoing plan to destroy black America, in this case, by emasculating its men.

She has a very sick concept of what is “masculine.” Sam could very well have been another statistic – he’s one of at least 8 children, his parents split up before he was very old, he has one brother dead, one in prison and one missing/presumed dead. He’s estranged from both parents (I believe his mother has substance abuse issues) and was functionally homeless for part of his high school career (he reportedly found a place with a teammate’s family, doing chores in exchange for a bed to sleep in). Yet somehow he’s managed not only to survive, but to thrive. He was a natural leader on his college team, he’s the first in his family to graduate college and the first to achieve any measure of success. By any measure he should be held up as a role model of what you can become in spite of any challenges you may face.

I recall the earlier “coming out” of a basketball player who was also black.

    Gee, what are the odds?

  • eric

is part of its ongoing plan to destroy black America, in this case, by emasculating its men.

Riiigght. Because when I think of recruiting a 23-year old black man to an elite profession where he will likely earn millions of dollars a year (putting him in, approximately, the top 0.01% of wealthiest people on earth) and his actions and opinions will be watched by millions of people every week, the first thought to spring to mind is “hey, that’s so emasculating.”

  • Moggie

Michael Sam is the latest black pawn of the homosexual movement.

Well, maybe, maybe not. But the white heterosexual pawns get to move first.

  • jnorris

pocketnerd, at #4, when you do find you some nice repressed Tea Party boys, coat that sex pile with gun oil.

  • Chiroptera

… in a lustful display of homosexual eroticism.

Boy, I bet that increased the number of views of the YouTube video by a couple hundred thousand!

  • otrame

Well, one thing this has shown is that homophobia outweighs racism in this case. I haven’t watch or listened to everything, of course, but there has been a nice selection of the usual (right wing nutjob) subjects on various blogs I read and not one of that has been outraged by that kiss has bothered to be outraged by the fact that Sam’s partner isn’t black.

  • otrame

    @14

No, no. The whole thing would be over too soon if you use gun oil. Combine their passion for “shooting” with getting to findle an actual peepee not their own and the whole thing will be over before you can get a condom on. And those boys are definitely the “Come and go” type. Ask any girl they’ve ever been with.

  • anbheal

Oh to be young, gay, black, and talented. Where can I sign up?

Cuz, I mean, if I saw the kiss, that means I’ve caught the young gay black talented germ, right? Just like Loving v. Virginia made me marry a black man? Oh never mind, I’m too confused now.

  • felidae

” lustful display of homosexual eroticism.”— Come on,He just kissed him– not like they showed him giving a BJ

  • dugglebogey

So when a man kisses his young son, that’s a “lustful display of eroticism?”

Get the fuck over it, kissing is NOT fucking!

    @2 colnago80

I’m several days late to this story, but that’s pretty much the dumbest thing I’ve ever read. He might not make the team, but the idea that it’s more likely for a college LB to gain 50 pounds and become a nose tackle is insane. If he plays in the NFL it will be LB or DE (plenty of ILB/OLB/DE are 6’2″). The idea that there is some prototypical set of physical attributes only goes so far. As a rabid fan of the Packers, I see this shit every year. Prototypical physical freaks flame out sometimes, and undrafted folks with atrocious stats sometimes make the team. Sam is a perfectly normal late round selection. His stats are horrible, but his production was amazing. I’m not saying he’ll make the team, but I am saying he won’t be shifted to DT/NT. He also has as much of a chance as any late round selection. Every team has guys with shitty combine stats who get shit done at a modest price. Another aspect is that if he’s a good special teamer, he’ll get a big boost. LB is one of those positions where the body type tends to help special teams.

    Re #21

Excuse me, Sam’s position in college was defensive end, not linebacker. Try to keep up. His current physical stats are 6’2” and 260 pounds. The articles I have read indicate that he is too small to play defensive end and not quick enough to play middle linebacker. However, nose guard in a 3/4 defense would seem his best bet, IMHO. Unfortunately, I am not aware of any NFL teams currently using a 3/4 defense (the Deadskins used a 3/4 defense the last few years under Shanahan but he was fired).

  • DrVanNostrand

    @colnago80

You’re a moron. Plenty of teams play a 3-4, including the Packers, and 3-4 nose guards are much larger than DEs. If he’s too small to play DE, he’s WAY too small to play nose guard. As he was a small pass rushing end in college, he projects to a DE/OLB in the pros. For example, the Packers’ elite OLB, Clay Matthews is 6’3″ 255. He will never, ever be a nose guard, and only someone who knows nothing about football would suggest it.
