A year or so ago, right-wing “news” site Newsmax emailed me with an exciting opportunity to put their RSS feed on my sidebar, offering to pay me for doing so. I published the email and mocked the hell out of the disingenuous marketing flunkie who sent it, claiming to be a huge fan of Freethought Blogs. Articles like this are the reason I wanted that site nowhere near this network:
Have you ever considered why so many Christians suffer from heart disease, cancer, arthritis, digestive problems, Alzheimer’s, and other health issues?
Nope, I haven’t. Christians suffer from those ailments for the same reason non-Christians suffer from them. Disease is not religion-specific, for crying out loud.
Christians appear to suffer from the same maladies as nonbelievers or members of other faiths. Does God’s plan for our lives really include sickness — or is it God’s will that we be healthy? And if so, why doesn’t our faith protect us?
Because your faith is bullshit.
Ah yes, the “world-renowned” Dr. Russell Blaylock. What exactly is he renowned for? For being a quack who gets rich selling “supplements” like his “Brain Repair Formula” that promise to fix every health problem from Alzheimer’s to cancer. He’s also an anti-vaxxer who thinks vaccines cause autism, which has been thoroughly discredited, and that there’s a vast conspiracy surrounding them.
In a new no-cost video presentation from Newsmax Health, you will hear what the Bible teaches us about these fascinating questions. Plus, world-renowned medical doctor and devoted Christian Dr. Russell Blaylock shares his proven strategies for living a healthy, God-centered life.
Editor’s Note: This educational video report — Why Christians Get Sick — is available at no charge right now, but may be removed at any time. Please take a few minutes today to discover how you can embrace God’s plan for your perfect health and wellness.
Oh yes, it’s very urgent that you watch it. And the next advertisement for bullshit, and the next one after that. Newsmax has an entire section of their website called the Blaylock Report that pushes this pseudo-scientific nonsense on their ignorant and credulous readers and I’m sure they make a lot of money on it.
