Keith Ablow Really Needs to STFU

Keith Ablow, the weapons grade asshole that Fox News turns to for fake psychological analysis, just can’t stop digging his own hole. He went on a Fox show with four female anchors and doubled down on his claim that Michelle Obama has to lose weight. They didn’t respond well.

Host Harris Faulkner interrupted to ask how the doctor knew that Michelle Obama had “struggled with her weight.”

Ablow replied that he had seen “images online” that proved “she has struggled with her weight or chosen to be much heavier than at other points in the administration. Maybe she’s chosen it.”

“Maybe she didn’t struggle, maybe she chose to be a larger woman.”

Ablow then turned to the women hosting the show, and said that each of them “should lose five pounds,” including himself.

“I’ll tell you what the bottom line is,” co-host Sandra Smith quipped. “In future appearances, maybe think about what you’re going to say before you say it.”

“It thought about it this time!” Ablow insisted. “Listen if I came here on the couch and had a drink and you smelled it on my breath, wouldn’t you say, ‘Hey, Keith, what’s going on?’”

“I wish you were drinking now because that would explain this crazy behavior,” co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle lamented. “Hell, no, you didn’t just tell a Puerto Rican woman she needs to lose five pounds.”

Kimberly Guilfoyle is the former wife of current California Lieutenant Governor and former San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom.

Fox News hits a conservative masturbation trifecta: hot broads, an authority figure putting them down, and hating on the uppity black “woman” squatting in the White House.

As a middle aged white adult male who is not an American, I would say that Michelle Obama is a good looking woman. And I wouldn’t call her overweight. She’s solid – not some stick insect like you see on fashion runways – but she looks just fine to me. So I guess she’s “fat” in the same way one of the Dixie Chicks was alleged to be “fat”.

The four Faux news hosts don’t seem to be in need of any weight loss program. They look like pretty appropriately sized women. I’m betting their BMIs are all well within the normal range. I think the guy is being a provocative asshole.

Ablow himself looks pretty doughy to me. And all four of those women look pretty attractive, aside from the fact that they are sitting on a Fox News set which is pretty effectively the 21st-century equivalent of the picture of Dorian Gray.

And while I am on Oscar Wilde (figuratively speaking), here is a quote from that book “Dr” Ablow might take to heart: “Those who find ugly meanings in beautiful things are corrupt without being charming. This is a fault.”

Now, look, he admitted that he could also lose five pounds, so it’s not sexist to repeatedly tell women that they’re fat. Honestly, you broads get so hysterical over things like this!

Do Fox directors order their female talent to all sit with the camera-side leg folded tightly over the other?

And why isn’t the one in blue showing the regulation amount of thigh?

  • colnago80

Gee, if noodlebrain Ablow thinks that Ms. Obama is too heavy, I wonder what he thinks of Cory Everson?

Or maybe people should just stop talking about people’s weight. Because people who need to lose weight, know they need to lose weight. So no one gets to police another person’s weight, behavior, etc. Someone needs to tell Ablow to stop being so damn superficial and that he is an embarrassment to the medical community

You need to lose five pounds! You need to lose five pounds! Everybody needs to lose five pounds!

“Listen if I came here on the couch and had a drink and you smelled it on my breath, wouldn’t you say, ‘Hey, Keith, what’s going on?’”

Actually, I think she’s saying, “Hey, Keith, what’s going?” right now.

This completely baffles me (and no, I don’t mean women on Fox News showing way more backbone than I’m sure their bosses are happy with). For one, when did “be a masturbatory fantasy for misogynists” get added to the First Lady’s job description? For that matter, when did First Lady become a job? She’s married to the president, that’s all. She doesn’t owe Ablow shit. He and his demands of her can piss right off. Second, I don’t understand how someone can look at Michelle Obama and think she’s unhealthy. I’d bet my life savings that if we gave her and Ablow body composition tests, she’d make him look like he needs a treadmill more than she ever has or likely ever will. This despite Ablow having the added advantage of being a few pounds lighter than the normal baseline due to missing a certain organ just above the neck.

Fellow commenters, it’s not any more relevant that you think Michelle Obama is actually rather thin/hot/whatever than it is that Ablow thinks she’s chunky. Her weight is nobody’s business but her own.

I would, however, very much like to rip the label “fat” out of the hands of subjectivity and place it solidly in the more objective and dispassionate realm of medical concern. As in, if your weight is not a health issue, you’re not fat. End of story.

  • logicgrrl

Just goes to show, liberal or conservative, if you’re a man, the last thing you want to do is tell a woman to lose some weight, because she will turn on you! LOL!

  • D. C. Sessions

I suspect that those women were all thinking that they knew exactly how to lose something short of 200 pounds. Hopefully permanently.

  • magistramarla

It’s true that women who carry a little extra weight have longer life expectancies than the men who tell them about it!

Not sure about the First Lady, but it’s been in the job description of all female Fox hosts from the day they get hired.

It’s always funny, though, when someone like Ablow says something so sexist that it becomes too much for them to adide by their contractual obligation to agree with everything the male host says.

My primary point of reference for all the “experts” on Fox News is that they’re employees of Fox News.

For example, I certainly know that Arthur Laffer is not representative of economists.

Ablow needs to gain several pounds. Specifically between his ears.

Female sportscasters, too. Big boobs and blonde? HIRED!

Sad this needs to be said of one of the most accomplished (and completely inoffensive) people of our time.
