Fox News General: ‘Now the Time’ to Overthrow Obama

Retired Gen. Thomas McInerney, who is a paid Fox News contributor, went on Rick Wiles’ soon-to-end radio along with fellow retired Gen. Paul Vallely and declared that it is “now the time” for a revolution to overthrow President Obama because he’s turning America into a “socialistic, communistic society.”

Wiles claimed that “Barack Obama is a communist” and “an enemy of the United States who is going to bring about destruction of the republic,” adding that the president is an “enemy of the nation, a domestic enemy in power, in the White House, who is orchestrating the destruction of our nation.” He also floated the possibility of a military coup against the president: “You’ve alluded to a constitutional crisis, but at what point do military commanders say enough is enough?”

McInerney warned that a “major incident or an attack” will cause a revolution against Obama once people realize he is “executing a very carefully orchestrated plan on how to change America, ‘transform America’ in his words, in a way that brings us to a socialistic, communistic society of redistributing wealth, etc., cutting our growth down, bringing in large amounts of immigrants that really want to live on the U.S. government and our education, etc.”

“We have a crisis not only in our economy and in our national security, but also in the demographics that is being changed at such a dramatic pace that we have not previously seen in our history,” he said. “To answer your question, when do people come up and say ‘enough is enough,’ that’s a very good question but I think this coming 9/11 is going to demonstrate, is now the time.”

Vallely has also said in the past that he would lead a military coup against Obama if he had enough loyal troops to pull it off. At what point are these men charged with sedition?

McInerney also agreed with Wiles that the U.S. has “switched sides, we are helping Al Qaeda, we are helping ISIS” in a move akin to the U.S. “switching sides to the Japanese and the Nazis” during World War II.

Yes, of course, which is why the military has launched almost 150 bombing raids against ISIS in the last few weeks, along with killing most of the senior leadership of Al Qaeda with drone strikes. Because Obama is on their side. This is the problem with conspiracy theories, facts are completely irrelevant to those who hold them.

I’ve been disgusted with the Republican Party for years, and contemptuous of the Tea Party and the religious right. It is clear that the TP and god-botherer types want to start a shooting war in the US. If the MSM had any value to the public, it would be reporting this as news with screaming headlines:”Former US General calls for military coup!”

  • Pierce R. Butler

… this coming 9/11 is going to demonstrate, is now the time.

Uh-oh, the hammer comes down today?!?

  • moarscienceplz

Dear Teabaggers, Fox News mouth-breathers, and various other cliques of wing-nuttery,

Relax. The scary black man will be required to leave the White House in just a little over two years from now. It says so in that Constitution thingy that you all claim you love so much. Or, did you stop reading when you got to the 2nd Amendment?

  • colnago80

Here’s a report from the Chihuahua’s least favorite news outlet that the Egyptian Government had intercepted intelligence in 2001 that an attack by Al Qaeda was in the works. They passed it on to the CIA, but, like the warnings from Richard Clarke, it was ignored by the Bush Administration. If this had been Obama, the Rethuglican rat fuckkers would be screaming for his head on a stick.

Sure, he’s a shoe in for Brig. Gen. Jack D. Ripper, but who can play Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake?

Yes, of course, which is why the military has launched almost 150 bombing raids against ISIS in the last few weeks, along with killing most of the senior leadership of Al Qaeda with drone strikes. Because Obama is on their side.

He is on their side. That’s why he’s sending them all those bombs. He’s not even selling them to them; he’s just giving them away, through the Obamabomb program.

Broken Things “I’ve been disgusted with the Republican Party for years, and contemptuous of the Tea Party and the religious right. It is clear that the TP and god-botherer types want to start a shooting war in the US.”

That’s ridiculous. I mean, come on! It’s like you haven’t even read the future documentary The Turner Diaries! They don’t want to start it. They have to. Saving the country by destroying it, as it were. Destroying the Moochers, anyway, living high off the taxpayer dime!

And also, they won’t start it. I mean, they would, but they’d have to reschedule that Medicare appointment.

Nah, the time’s not quite right. I suggest that they wait until, oh, January of 2017.

At what point are these men charged with sedition?

When the FBI and federal prosecuters deem they have crossed the line from “couch-sitting blowhards” to “bombs in the basement revolutionaries.”

Until they cross that line, however, letting them be free to rant serves two purposes – it shows we support our first amendment even in the face of seditious-sounding complaints, and it provides an object lesson to fence-sitters that the far right really is that crazy, their portrayal in the media isn’t just some liberal bias.

  • kantalope

” but also in the demographics that is being changed at such a dramatic pace that we have not previously seen in our history,”

There’s the racism–wondered why it was taking so long to get there.

  • John Pieret

At what point are these men charged with sedition?

Generally speaking, there has to be an overt act and an imminent threat of a violent attack against the government. Flapping your gums on a “radio show” probably doesn’t rise to the level of “sedition” nor should it. The history of sedition laws being used by authoritarians to stifle legitimate dissent is too long to trust their use in a democracy.

  • tbp1

Wow, can you even imagine the uproar it would have created if someone of the same relative prominence had said this about W?

  • eric

We have a crisis…in the demographics that is being changed at such a dramatic pace that we have not previously seen in our history

Well, except for that 1500-1800 period, when it shifted quite dramatically from brown to white.

  • D. C. Sessions

it provides an object lesson to fence-sitters that the far right really is that crazy, their portrayal in the media isn’t just some liberal bias.

That’s what they want you to think. It’s why they run these false-flag operations in the first place.

  • abusedbypenguins

The average republican wouldn’t know what a communist was even if one crawled up their ass and set up house-keeping.

  • Kevin Kehres

    @11…not completely.

According to the first census of the US, of the 3.8 million people counted, almost 700,000 were definitely not white.

Where is Brig. Gral. Jack o’Neill when you really need him?

  • http://en.uncyclopedia.co/wiki/User:Modusoperandi Modusoperandi

Kevin Kehres, to be fair, the 700,000 only counted for 3/5ths of that. And also they didn’t count.

Is anyone else as horrified as I am that two men with obvious contempt for constitutional system of elected government, managed to rise to such high levels of power and trust that comes with being a general in the US military? The irony is that they are exactly the kind of people the Constitution was designed to protect us from and here they are. claiming to love it.

  • raven

These reich wingnuts do make an important point.

    1. There is a large group of America Haters. They openly hate our democracy and freedom and will destroy it if they can. They say so often.

    2. They are called variously the Tea Party, the GOP, xian Dominionists, fundies, or simply right wingnuts.

    3. They have a lot in common with the Moslem terrorists of al Qeada and ISIL. Except those groups are over there destroying their society. Ours are over here, trying to destroy ours.

  • raven

“We have a crisis not only in our economy and in our national security, but also in the demographics that is being changed at such a dramatic pace that we have not previously seen in our history,” he said.

Oh. Scary brown and black people.

The weird angry old white guys are dying off. No surprise, being old is a long way towards being…dead. It’s just biology. The average age of Fox NoNews viewers is 68.

But this is a crisis for who now? Non-(angry old weird white guys) are people too.

If the sedition bombast upsets you, don’t look up Valelly’s wikipedia page. The guy also defended Gitmo torture, the outing of Valery Plame, birtherism…

Being a General is somewhat similar to being a CEO. “Good Administrator” is a set of skills that appears to allow for a wide range of wacky beliefs.

BTW, the idea of a military coup in the US might sound shocking, but it’s not at all far fetched.
