Linda Harvey Thinks The Gay Causes Abortion

Unhinged bigot Linda Harvey and Molly Smith, who was so extreme an anti-choice ideologue that even the National Right to Life Committee dumped her, did an interview on Harvey’s radio show and they agreed that those who are against abortion must also be anti-gay because being gay causes abortions. Wha?

The subject came up in Smith’s interview this month with anti-gay activist Linda Harvey, who wholeheartedly agreed with Smith that anti-choice activists must also oppose LGBT rights because, she said, LGBT rights lead to a greater incidence of abortion.

“The Planned Parenthood and anti-life lobby is heavily imbued and connected to homosexuality,” Harvey told Smith. “They’re in favor of opening up the doors and spreading the boundaries of sexuality all across the board. That includes homosexuality. The lines are very blurred, and unless you stand strong on this issue, you’re going to see much more, and you do see much more, out of wedlock sexuality and then of course, more abortion.”

Harvey said that she had seen Planned Parenthood march in the Columbus, Ohio, LGBT pride parade: “Why are they doing that? Because they know, you muddy the water, and you get a lot more of their business, abortion.”

This would be the point at which you nod and smile and walk away shaking your head. Oh, and those polls showing increased support for gay rights? They’re obviously wrong. Why? Because they want them to be.

Smith and Harvey then discussed polls showing rapidly increasing support for gay rights, which they decided must be skewed.

“I’m beginning to lose all kinds of respect for these polls,” Smith said.

“Yes, they’re inaccurate, they portray things in the wrong way,” Harvey agreed, adding that if polls gave people “all the information” about LGBT people “they would change their minds” and realize that “maybe these people are defending something that is not defensible and is, indeed, shameful.”

Ah, you got that wrong, Ed! It is not that the polls are wrong – they are just not giving the participants all the information. Meaning: they don’t tell the readers just what a bunch of filthy depraved immoral God-hating communist pervert moocher sodomitic perverst they are polling about.

If only the truth-loving real true truth providing loving Christians would write these polls – then the misinformed public would see the loving truth about these hell-bound sickos and vote for the true love of the loving God!

    Yech, bigots!

On the one hand they’re trying to argue that gays don’t deserve equal right because we can’t have children. On the other, she wants to argue that we have so many unwanted children that we drive up the abortion rate?

Ugh, I know logic is too much to expect out of these people, but at least a modicum of internal consistency would make them less frustrating to argue with.

Of course The Ghey drives up the abortion rate! Every time Adam and Steve get “married”, a traditional straight real marriage goes all asplody, taking any preborns with it.

Harvey has a point. I’ve never seen a gay man give birth. Have you?

I am gay, so maybe I just don’t get it. Is Linda Loony saying that straight people need to be convinced, by gay people, to have sex?

Ed Brayton, have you at least seen the $10,000 offer?

It’s legit, though I understand you might not want to take it. What do you think? Thank you.

The frightening thing is that their audience actually believes this.

This actually almost makes sense, within the right-wing version of reality. You see, if same-sex marriage is as freely and easily available as different-sex marriage, what will happen is that formerly straight men will be enticed away from their pregnant wives to marry their new boyfriends, leaving the wife alone with a baby on the way. Of course, being a weak and feeble woman, she’ll be incapable of bringing it up well as a single mother, and no man will ever want to bring up someone else’s kid, so the only option is abortion (or adoption, but we’ll just quietly forget about that as it hurts the idea that no man will want to bring up someone else’s kid). Of course, back in the real world, pretty much all of that is utterly wrong, but it makes sense in the right-wing echo-chamber world.

(Oh, and, rigorlogicmathematics, I can’t speak for Ed, but I’m certainly not impressed by an offer laid out by somebody who, apart from anything else, can’t tell the difference between the title of the blogging network and Ed’s own blog on that network, seems to think he can diagnose medical conditions from a picture of somebody and makes something that he readily admits is ‘exploiting’ Ed for his own gain a central part of that offer.)

Actually, I think this is quite an admission:

The Planned Parenthood and anti-life lobby is heavily imbued and connected to homosexuality,” Harvey told Smith. “They’re in favor of opening up the doors and spreading the boundaries of sexuality all across the board. That includes homosexuality.

In other words, anti-choice activism isn’t about saving babies, it is about controlling women’s sexuality.

I think she could be right. After all, The Gay did cause the caulk in my friend’s shower to start falling apart.

A contradiction on the face of it.

I suggest a handle reflective of your demonstrated attributes.

Obviously Teh Gay (TM) have the Evil Eye, and can cause misscarriages just by looking at people.

Is Linda Loony saying that straight people need to be convinced, by gay people, to have sex?

Not quite. She seems to be saying that Planned Parenthood tells people to go have sex (gay, straight, they’re an equal promoter) without BC or condoms. Kinda opposite their actual mission.
