Ohio Republican: Fight Against ISIS Just Like Fight Against Abortion

I‘ve said many times that as bad as Congress can be with the Gohmerts and Bachmanns and Kings running around spouting nonsense, the real goldmine of stupid is in the state legislatures. At an anti-abortion rally in Ohio, Republican state Rep. Matt Lynch said the fight against abortion is just like the fight against ISIS.

In a video posted on YouTube by OhioCapitalBlog, Lynch declared that ISIS beheading journalists and civilians in Syria and Iraq is no different than the practice of legal abortion in Ohio.

The two issues “are not dissimilar,” Lynch insisted. “As a nation, as we’re aroused literally to move Heaven and earth to combat this evil on the other side of the world somehow we’re blind and we’re silent to the twenty thousand plus deaths that are occurring, seventy a day, right here in the state of Ohio.”

“We have to have the courage,” he said, “to understand that the moral right against evil in the mid-east is no different than the moral fight against evil right here in the state of Ohio and that evil is abortion.”

Hey, you know who else really hates the idea of women being able to control their own reproduction? ISIS. That evil group is on your side on that issue.

Reelect Matt Lynch so that he can stand between you and your doctor.

… we’re aroused literally to move Heaven and earth to combat this evil on the other side of the world…

Literally? From where to where? Do astronomers have to re-calibrate their instruments to new coordinates, and should the religious change their angles of prayer?

Or is he saying he is literally aroused? I hope he was wearing snugly-fitting underpants or it could have been embarrassing.

Sounds to me like he’s signaling the start of a massive bombing campaign.

So we fight it by reducing access to ISIS and using it as a wedge issue while never actually wanting to get rid of it?

Regrettably, this asshat is currently my “representative” in the statehouse in Columbus, Ohio. If you wish to plumb the depth of his delusions you need only surf to http://www.mattlynch.com/

His winning slogan in this gerrymandered district, in the safely Republican exurbs east of Cleveland, Ohio, is “Faith, Family, Freedom”. His campaign symbol is a Republican elephant with a Christian cross on its saddle blanket. Check out his demented website; it speaks for itself.

The slightly good news is that the daughter of a relatively moderate Republican, Sarah LaTourette, won the Republican primary earlier this year against another openly Tea-Party radical christer. This ignorant chump is on his way out.

    gaparker,

I saw the link at Lynch’s site titled, “Wisdom of Ronald Reagan”. I don’t think Mr. Lynch reads Ed’s blog posts regarding the imagined demi-god Ronald Reagan vs. the actual commie-fascist-liberal Ronald Reagan that Ed occasionally posts about.

Is Mr. Lynch admitting that fertilized cells (on up through foetuses, to babies) do not believe in God, have no religion, and are therefore infidels?

  • Chiroptera

Yes, abortion IS exactly like ISIS beheading civilians. Because when I lived in an area controlled by Abortion, I was afraid to speak my mind for fear that I would be taken out of my home and aborted.
