Perkins, Rios: Muslims Worship a ‘God of Death’

I‘m always amused by Christians who attempt to distinguish between Islam and Christianity by making false distinctions between the two religions. Tony Perkins and Sandy Rios did this on her radio show last week, claiming that Islam is “180 degrees” different because Muslims worship a “God of death.”

“And you know, the counter to that, of course, the Islamic movement, one of their goals, their top of the charts goal, is to express themselves as a religious movement, a movement dedicated to Allah,” Rios responded. “They don’t hide it, they call his name when they murder, so we are opposing a movement that honors a god of death, really. So this is no time to be shy about who it is that we serve.”

“Right, we’re 180 degrees from those that are pushing the Islamic religion, ISIS and others,” Perkins responded. “Contrary to what the president says, they are Islamic and they are pushing that religion, which is the total opposite of Christianity.”

Right. They worship a god who, if the Bible is to be believed, drowned everyone on earth except 8 people, commanded the slaughter of whole civilizations as a matter of routine, and intends to burn most of the human race in hell forever. But it’s some other religion that worships a god of death (when in fact, they worship the same god and believe all those same things).

“They don’t hide it, they call his name when they murder,

While our regular soldiers had nothing to do with it (and in fact maybe nobody in DoD had anything to do with it), I’m nevertheless reminded of this.

But it’s some other religion that worships a god of death (when in fact, they worship the same god and believe all those same things).

But, according to the blog’s resident physics professor and former math department chairman, the god of the Quran and of the Christian bible are not the same god.

Interesting, I’m sure Heddle will be along to shed some light hopefully.

Well, if you really get down to it, Rios’s god and Perkins’ god are not the same god, either.

Islam is “180 degrees” different because Muslims worship a “God of death.”

So…does that mean they worship “Death of God”?

They don’t hide it, they call his name when they murder.

So true. Muslims worship a god of death, we worship a god of orgasms.

…they are Islamic and they are pushing that religion, which is the total opposite of Christianity.

Christians don’t push their religion? Who knew?

Muslims worship a “God of death.”

And we say to that God “Not today.”

What ever happened to the “Allah is a moon god” meme that was going around a few years ago?

  • John Pieret

Wonderful sights were to be seen. Some of our men (and this was more merciful) cut off the heads of their enemies; others shot them with arrows, so that they fell from the towers; others tortured them longer by casting them into the flames. Piles of heads, hands and feet were to be seen in the streets of the city. It was necessary to pick one’s way over the bodies of men and horses. But these were small matters compared to what happened at the Temple of Solomon, a place where religious services are normally chanted … in the temple and the porch of Solomon, men rode in blood up to their knees and bridle reins. Indeed it was a just and splendid judgement of God that this place should be filled with the blood of unbelievers since it had suffered so long from their blasphemies

The fundie version of xianity is a death cult!!!

Their best idea right now is to sit around in a daze and hope jesus comes back soon, kills 7 billion people, and destroys the earth. This is what they hope and pray for. This is the Rapture, End Times, Apocalypse cults. It’s all right in the magic book, Revelation.

The only way the xian Sky Monster god could get more genocidal, is if we discover UFO aliens. Then they can pray that he kills them too.

“God of Death”? What, you mean like the Muslim God sent his only son to be tortured and crucified?

Just take a look at the two symbols of the religion: A constellation and moon vs. an execution method.

John Pieret, that’s totally different. That was our people killing theirs, while theirs is their people killing ours. Our Crusaders valued life enough to not let the Muslins have any.

It’s especially amusing coming from Perkins, who would be quite happy to see gays in Africa executed, but won’t say it out loud because he knows it’s bad PR.

  • birgerjohansson

Maybe they* should just become Kali worshippers?

    .

    *Christians and muslims alike.

BTW Odin was kind of cool about sacrifices. He was content with one or two human sacrifices at a time.

Is there any Christian who has ever attempted to defend Hell-believing Christians celebrating a god that will cause unimaginable suffering to some for all of eternity?

I realize I’m a broken record on the topic; but all I’ve encountered is avoidance. I’ve yet to find even one Christian take on this obvious conundrum.

When I’ve brought this up to Christians in meat-world, it’s like they’re hearing this dilemma for the first time. They get physically and emotionally agitated and energetically recoil in horror. Their reaction reminds of old vampire movies when people advance with a cross against a vampire.

    Some?

According to xian mythology, it is almost all humans who will end up in hell. Xians only make up 28% of the world’s population. And Real True xians are a small subset of that. It could be as many as 99+% end up in hell if you believe in some of the weirder and smaller cults.

    It’s simple, really:

    – Some Muslims kill in the name of Allah, which makes Allah a Death-God.

    – All Muslims worship Allah.

    – Therefore all Muslims are Death-God worshipers.

  • DaveL

Of course Muslims worship a god of death. They’re the ones who kneel before an image of a man being tortured to death on a cross. That was the Muslims, right? It’s so hard to keep them all straight.

  • busterggi

People who worship a corpse on a stick have no business calling others ‘death worshippers’.

Do they mean this sort of thing?

Shitkins worships a god of death: the god who would force women with life-threatening pregnancies not to abort.

    The god of lethal homophobia.

The god of (perhaps more indirectly) lethal lack of access to health insurance thanks to right-wing economics.

The god of crusades for oil.

    The god of “legitimate” rape.

More specifically, Shitkins has created God in his own image: an image of cruelty, malice, racism, bigotry, callousness and sexism.

    @Michael Heath

    About hell.

I’m on that broken record too. For example, I got the exact same reaction from Raging Bee on this topic in another thread, and I think that Raging Bee isn’t even a Christian! Yet he refuses to recognize the obvious immorality and vile nature of worshiping a god who could send anyone to hell.
