Gloomy Glenn Beck is Back

As Glenn Beck lurches back and forth between depressing depictions of impending doom and gloom, on the one hand, and hopeful missives about the good guys (led by him, of course) are going to win and restore the country to some imagined glorious past, it appears that Beck is back on the downswing.

“We refuse to humble ourselves,” Beck said, pointing to the recent failures within the Secret Service, the crisis in the Middle East, ongoing economic problems, and even Common Core as evidence that “our arrogance is getting worse” and that our society has become “completely unhinged from reality.”

“I have news for you, gang,” Beck declared. “A humbling is coming … If we don’t start re-rooting ourselves in those things that all men once found self-evident, a humbling is coming.”

And Ebola “might be the beginning of one,” he warned, “and you should prepare.”

Smart move, Glenn. That’ll help sell some more gold and survival supplies for your sponsors.

Things like miasmas, or all the way back to demons causing disease?

And then there’s geocentrism. Or does he mean a flat Earth?

Bloodletting. One of the all-time greats.

Our ancestors knew so much that we have lost. Indeed, Glenn, you should lead your followers back to the wisdom of the ancients.

He is late. I had this one weeks ago.

The Frost Giants are coming back!!! An invasion from Helheim is imminent. It will get very cold for months on end in the upper northern hemisphere. The days will be short, the sun low in the sky. Frozen water will fall from the skies by the foot.

But don’t worry. Thor and the Aesir have been battling the Frost Giants for eons. It will take a few months but they will drive them back.

Glenn Beck a stranger lost in a strange land. where no one will kiss his ass or even his hand,

Glenn Beck is a fear monger at his very core. He’s been trying to change his image, which coincides with a defamation lawsuit brought against him, but he just can’t suppress his gloom and doom mentality. This sums up his insanity rather well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8-cduo2Wgk

Hey Glenny – why not wander off into the Sinai for 40 years or so. I’m sure your followers will dutifully join you, don’t you? (Oh ye of little faith!).

Still, undiagnosed (and untreated) Bipolar Disorders are not to be laughed at, rather, they should be responsibly managed.

    “…our arrogance is getting worse…”

That’s funny, considering that you’re side of the spectrum demands that Americans strut around like the own the planet. You folks call it “patriotism.”

…and that our society has become “completely unhinged from reality.”

I think we’ve got a Bryan Fisher Award nominee here.

If we are going to be humble, we should cut out military budget in half (solving our deficit problem and making sure out ‘greenbacks’ are good and nobody needs buy gold), and stop trying to be the world’s policeman right, Glennie?

I wonder, has anyone tried timing Beck’s mood swings? It would be interesting to know if he has a regular cycle to his manic depression. You could predict what the mood of his next week’s broadcast will be. I’m not sure what use that would be, but it could be a curious exercise.

As are fans of the Washington Deadskin football team.

Did Glen get a glimpse of himself in a mirror and assume he was looking out a window?

Beck is becoming the real life incarnation of the Howard Beale character in the movie Network

Eh; the last time I re-watched Network, I started wondering whether FoxNews explicitly used it as a blueprint.

What, and release 600,000 unemployed young people, already trained? No, no, no. Keep spending that money, not on preparing to blow up other people’s stuff, but on rebuilding the infrastructure. Turn half our military into a “Military Conservation Corp” and set them establishing real security for the US by rebuilding bridges, repairing waterworks, desalination plants on the west coast, a smart grid, sea dikes, etc.

    .

As for Glenny Boy, however his mood swings this week, he still has a constant center. As long as he has our full attention and half our money, all is right with his world.

The guy is bipolar. The frequency of him being logical and even-tempered followed by huge ups and downs, it wouldn’t surprise me if he keeps going off his meds, which is common in bipolar individuals who are medicating. We should be supporting him and encouraging him to stick to his regimen, rather than laughing at him like a side-show act.
