Someone's Shoving Things Down Richard Land's Throat

Richard Land, formerly a high-ranking official in the Southern Baptist Convention, has been filling in for Tony Perkins on the Family Research Council’s radio show and he wants you to know that he’s damn sick and tired of gay people shoving things down his throat. After the state of Kentucky hit a business for discrimination for refusing to serve a gay client, he said:

The ruling did not please Fox News correspondent Todd Starnes or former Southern Baptist Convention official Richard Land, who discussed the case on yesterday’s edition of “Washington Watch,” which Land was guest-hosting.

“What they just did violates the Constitution of the United States,” Land insisted. “It also shows, once again, the ugly face of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender movement. They are not a live-and-let-live bunch, they are, ‘We’re going to ram this down your throat, we’re going to force you to accept this or we’re going to run you out of business.’”

Yeah! And they’re going to bend you over and make you take it! They’re going to legally sodomize you! And they aren’t even going to use lube! Wait, that’s the same thing that would happen to me if I refused to hire a Christian like Land, but you don’t hear me complaining about how Christianity is being “shoved down my throat” by our anti-discrimination laws. These right-wing Christians sure are a whiny bunch. And very Freudian too.

Those gays are such a pain in the butt. And lesbians are always tongue-lashing everybody! Why can’t they just be like normal people and go sit in a cold building once a week staring at a statue of a naked man writhing on a torture device?

WE CHRISTIAN CONSERVATIVES REACHED ACROSS THE AISLE TO YOU AND OFFERED TO FORCE YOU TO BRING IN LAWS THAT ALLOWED THE GAYS TO PATRONIZE HETEROBUSINESSES LIKE LUNCHCOUNTERS WHERE THEYD GET THEIR VERY OWN ENTRANCE AND COUNTER ALL TO THEMSELVES BUT YOU SUPPORTERS OF THE HOMOSEXUAL AGEDNA SIMPLY WONT COMPROMISE!!!

The particular case involved a T-shirt printer that put in a bid to do a large number of shirts but then backed out when they found out the T-shirts were for a gay pride event. They offered their services to the public and had no right, under a local ordinance to refuse that service based on the sexual orientation of the client, any more than they would have to refuse service based on the client’s skin color.

It’s against the law to do nothing?

    *Constitution.

Not even a friendly reach around?

What is the world coming to?

When will they figure out that the Constitution says what SCOTUS says it says? The Constitution says what SCOTUS says right now, too. Not last week or last century. I hate some of the rulings that have come of this disgrace of a court but it is the law of the land. I’ve moved on to trying to fix that.

Maybe if he kept his mouth shut…

What they just did violates the Constitution…

    * or would that constitute ‘a friendly reach around’?

If Land doesn’t want things shoved down his throat, maybe he should try keeping his mouth shut.
