Robertson: Courts Causing ‘Homosexual Behavior’

Pat Robertson made the bizarre claim that by not stopping same-sex marriage, “this onslaught of homosexual behavior that is being forced on us by the Supreme Court of the United States is having deadly consequences.” Does he think that people are suddenly turning gay because they can now get married? Or that if they can’t get married, they’ll just magically stop being gay?

    Yes.

  • John Pieret

    Does he think …

You could have stopped your discussion of Robertson’s statement right there.

  • Alverant

Does he think being gay is restricted to the USA? Did two men in South Africa say, “Hooray the US Court said we can have sex!”?

  • eric

I like how he equates not granting cert with “forcing” the behavior on us. Poor judges; when they rule on something they are activist, and when they don’t they are activist.

I can’t be the only straight man who thought Posner’s clobbering of anti-gay arguments was at least a little sexy…

SCOTUS is forcing people to get gay married? Who’d have thunk it.

Now if Pat Robertson would move himself just a little bit more fully into the alternate universe he inhabits, maybe we wouldn’t be able to hear him from this one any more.

I think the logic goes something like this:

    – If the courts allow same sex marriage then that indicates that being gay is acceptable.

    – If being gay becomes acceptable then more people will choose to be gay (because it’s a choice after all, and a very tempting one at that).

    – If more people choose to be gay then it’s all, human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria.

    … deadly consequences.

    Uh, who died?

  • Loqi

Pierce, my great granny died yesterday. Homosexualed to death. She was walking down the street when she happened upon two men holding hands. Then suddenly Justice Kagan leapt into the scene and declared she wouldn’t ban it. Poor granny died on the spot. Never saw it coming. True story.

Loqi, Justice Kennedy forced me and a random passerby to scissor. Nearly killed us.

  • John Pieret

    Loqi, Modus

Justice Thomas jumped out of a dark alley, said nothing* and nobody noticed.

SCOTUS is just ducking the issue (notice they’re not really finding any Constitutional Rights, just hiding from making any decision) so they can give libs an apparent win in an otherwise dismal and appalling string of defeats (voting rights, infinite Koch money in elections).

Robertson is so insane he probably thinks SCOTUS ordered re-education camps for straights and is now denying DSM.

How refreshing that Robertson is telling Christians to “get out of Dodge” and go into hiding, I guess. Not that he means that: he’s remembering when it was the other way around. It seems clear to me from his comment on “homosexual behavior that is being forced on us by the Supreme Court” that it’s the public behavior which has increased. Pat’s longing for the days of gays”being in the closet” and at least attempting to pass as straight. And he’s whining that now it’s the Christians who have to hide.

    Nonsense.

  • jnorris

Does anyone know if Mr Robertson provided a list of times and places one could be onslaughted by homosexual behavior? Just asking for a friend.

Gay marriage is going to destroy us because all gay wedding rings are the sharp kind that cut you and give you aids Pat warned us about a while back.

Only now they give you the new hybrid aidsbola virus.
