Root: Remove Obama ‘Before He Kills All of Us’

Wayne Allen Root, former Libertarian Party presidential candidate and now vice chair of something called the Conservative Caucus, decided to turn the alarmist rhetoric up to 11 on a wingnut radio show, saying that Obama was sent her by…well, someone or something…to destroy the country and kill us all.

“One man is taking down the entire America,” Root declared. “This was his plan. It’s not a mistake. It’s not a coincidence. It’s not fate. One man was sent here to destroy this country. I don’t know who it was. Was it the Soviet Union? Was it communist forces? I don’t know who it is. Was it the Bilderbergs that want the world under One World control? I don’t know, Kerby. All I know is there’s someone in office who is either mentally unstable or is so incompetent that he has got to be removed, or he is purposely taking down this country.”

“We’ve got to remove him from office and fast,” Root said, “before he kills all of us.”

Well as long as you’re being thoughtful and reasonable about this…

Remove him from office “fast?” Does he mean assassination?

  • John Pieret

All I know is there’s someone in office who is either mentally unstable or is so incompetent that he has got to be removed, or he is purposely taking down this country.

So, can you make up your mind if he is incompetent or the greatest evil genius since Emperor Ming?

  • Chiroptera

Was it the Bilderbergs that want the world under One World control?

Heh. It sounds like he really, really tried to sound not nuts but couldn’t help himself.

  • gshelley

Do any on these nuts ever actually explain what extreme and unprecedented actions Obama has taken that is “taking down America”?

  • Trebuchet

Do any on these nuts ever actually explain what extreme and unprecedented actions Obama has taken that is “taking down America”?

By destroying the economy, of course. He just isn’t very good at it, since the stock market is at record highs and unemployment is plummeting.

  • shadowwalkyr

Are you kidding? Ming was a piker — he couldn’t even beat Flash Gordon.

  • http://en.uncyclopedia.co/wiki/User:Modusoperandi Modusoperandi

    This was his plan.

    “Hey, you’re young and swingin’,

No time to think about tomorrow

But there ain’t no way to deny it

Some day, you’re gonna buy it.

    Plan today,

    Go with Ferryman

    Tomorrow!

    Ferryman, Ferryman,

he’s the man with the plot, the man with the plan!

    Ferryman, Ferryman,

He’s the mortician man who loves you!

    A lot!” (WKRP, 1978)

    Once again. Modus FTW

    shadowwalkyr @ 6:

Ming was a piker — he couldn’t even beat Flash Gordon.

It wasn’t Ming’s fault. It’s in all the evil geniuses’ contracts that they have to lose.

stephenmurphy, WKRP deserves all the credit. All I did was be tangential and wildly out of date.

  • matty1

It’s in all the evil geniuses’ contracts that they have to lose.

Yeah, explain the genius part to me again.

    @4:

what extreme and unprecedented actions Obama has taken that is “taking down America”?

ACA. Not lowering taxes enough. Not throwng every hispanic out of the country. Being too soft on foreign enemies while at the same time overcommitting the US to foreign entanglements.

  • teawithbertrand

Soviet Union? Did I really just read that?

  • dingojack

teawithbertrand = It’s that damned Time Machine and Mind Control Device™ !

    Thanks Obama!!!

I’d love to see Root’s list of the country’s steps toward destruction:

More people have health insurance (but they are undeserving poor people)

Gay people are getting married (and as a result, millions of christians are weeping)

Minimum wage hikes are actually helping people get off welfare (except that means they aren’t all lazy bums)

God is being driven out of schools (that damned constitution again)

  • Loqi

Taking down the entire America? Why isn’t anyone in the United States of the America doing anything to stop it?

  • http://www.pandasthumb.org Area Man

I wonder how Libertarians reconcile the belief that they’re the epitome of rationality and reason with the fact that they nominated this utter lunatic to represent them.

  • colnago80

    Re Area Man @ #17

I’m sure that the blogs resident libertarian basher, Raging Bee, might have something to say about that.

  • colnago80

Was it the Bilderbergs that want the world under One World control?

Not a bit of it. It’s Skull and Bones.

Look, any port in a storm. A storm of tax cuts and deregulation. Hurray!

  • raven

Was it the Bilderbergs that want the world under One World control?

I think it is the Illuminati. Or the UN.

They aren’t doing a very good job. The world is fragmenting more than it is uniting.

  • caseloweraz

Such selfless courage and dedication! All honor to Wayne Allyn Root, who so clearly defines the problem facing America and bravely names the person responsible.

  • raven

We’ve got to remove him from office and fast,” Root said, “before he kills all of us.”

??? Like my two friends, dead in Iraq. Along with 5,000 other Americans and maybe 150,000 Iraqis. In a pointless war that was counterproductive and never really ended.

Compared to George Bush and Darth Cheney, Obama has a lot more positive accomplishments.

    1. He ended the Great Recession. The economy is growing, not fast but not trivial either. The stock market is at record highs, which matters for the tens of millions with 401(K) plans and IRA’s.

    2. Unemployment is down. The housing market came back from the dead. The banks aren’t collapsing.

    3. He ended the war in Iraq and is winding down the one in Afghanistan. To be sure, they keep flaring up again. But that isn’t his fault.

    4. He woke up late on Ebola but so did the entire world. We are on it now with some success. The US has had a total of two endogenous cases and they both are likely to recover. West Africa is still out of control but at least the world is moving on it.

To be sure, the US jobs situation is still pathetic. The national debt is still high. Economic inequality is high and increasing. The middle east is a mess. But these problems are decades old and a president can’t just wave his hands and make them go away. Economic inequality dates from the 1970’s. The GOP is to blame just as much or more so then the Democrats.

  • raven

The nearest Ebola cases to me are two nurses, 3,000 miles away in highly secure isolation units. The nearest ISIS terrorists are halfway around the world, killing Moslems in Syria and Iraq.

I’m a lot more afraid of Wayne Allen Root and his milions of co-right wingnuts. They are over here and have nothing to offer but fear, hate, and failed and senseless economic plans.

Brownback tried Libertarianistic supply side economics in Kansas, a proven failure. The state looks like a basket case and Kansas citizens might even vote to rejoin the 20th century.

    matty1 @11

Yeah, explain the genius part to me again.

I know who can explain it to you. Here’s his card.

  • http://timgueguen.blogspot.com timgueguen

Funny that Root is still alive. If Obama is going to kill them all you’d think Root would be near the top of the list.

Oh wait, he’s not because he’s pretty much a nobody, even by crank standards.

  • felidae

what extreme and unprecedented actions Obama has taken that is “taking down America”?–being a negro!

  • Lofty

Well, isn’t “the Conservative Caucus” a synonym for “a Murder of Crows”?

  • John Pieret

    matty1 @11

Yeah, explain the genius part to me again.

Well, you see … evil geniuses are fictional characters (like Root’s version of Obama) whose only function is to be the foil for the fictional character of the Good Guy (that Root imagines himself to be). The only problem with the metaphor is that Obama never actually signed the evil genius contract and Root wouldn’t recognize a Good Guy if he was surgically attached to his ass.

  • abb3w

    @17, Area Man

I wonder how Libertarians reconcile the belief that they’re the epitome of rationality and reason with the fact that they nominated this utter lunatic to represent them.

That’s not quite as bad as you make it out; along with misspelling his middle name, there seems a minor inaccuracy in Ed’s article. Wayne Allyn Root was a candidate for the Libertarian Presidential nomination in 2008, but stepped down after a few ballots to endorse Bob Barr, and got their Vice-Presidential nomination as a consolation prize. Given the precedents of Quayle, Palin, and Biden, the bar for being VP grade of sane seems pretty low.

Of course, the bar for “sane” is also pretty low for libertarians.
