Solomon: Obama a Gay Muslim Married to a Man

Sometimes I think we should set up some kind of cage match between the worst right-wing radio show hosts to see who would emerge as the dumbest and most extreme. Michael Savage, Rick Wiles, and Kevin Swanson would be there. So would Stan Solomon, who interviewed Larry Pratt recently and they spewed all kinds of bizarre extremism.

The two then talked about how they have been preparing for the prospect of Sharia law governing America and that unlike defenseless liberals, they will be ready to fight back. Pratt reasoned that “the liberals are so consumed with hatred of our country that when they see somebody like a Muslim who hates America as well, they can’t get it through their head what you just pointed out, that they’re next. If they get those folks in power, if they pull off what they’re trying to do, they’re toast. You and I can probably protect ourselves because we’ve been preparing for that.”

Solomon then suggested that President Obama is Muslim who is married to a man: “A homosexual Muslim married to man, I can’t imagine how Barack Obama would do if he ever ventured into a Muslim country and didn’t have 800,000 armed people around him.” (We aren’t sure if Solomon is referring to the far-right conspiracy theory that Obama is secretly married to his male Pakistani college roommate or the one that Michelle Obama is a transgender woman.)

The gun lobbyist replied that Obama was steeped in Islam but most likely “disparages every religion, his religion is Barack Obama, but he is a man that does not like this country.”

Okey dokey.

How could you leave out Bryan Fischer?

Is there any radio that could carry that competition and not commit suicide?

  • http://en.uncyclopedia.co/wiki/User:Modusoperandi Modusoperandi

Well, as long as they’re being rational about this…

  • dugglebogey

So the president isn’t really an islamist, he’s an obamaist?

  • http://howlandbolton.com richardelguru

“Michelle Obama is a transgender woman” You mean like Eve? (Remember that Eve was supposedly cloned from Adam and then—presumably—transgendered so s/he could co-habit with him).

While some of the criticism of W was a bit excessive, I don’t remember anything as insane as the stuff being said about President Obama. Certainly not all day, every day, from dozens of different sources, including some that can be reasonably be described as mainstream Republican. The only things even close out of the liberal side about W were from very, very fringe figures like Ward Churchill.

Pratt’s religion is The Gun. I bet he’s like the mutants in Beneath the Planet of the Apes, but his altar has a giant Colt Python or M1911 on it instead of a nuclear warhead.

Has anyone made up bingo cards?

Timgueguen: Pratt’s religion is The Gun. I bet he’s like the mutants in Beneath the Planet of the Apes…

Or like the barbarians in Zardoz: “The gun is good. The gun shoots death, and purifies the world.”

    How big is their audience?

Am I the only one who thinks that if we lived in an America that would elect an open gay black Muslim married to a man, that would actually be a good thing?

There are only two things wrong with his characterization of the President that way: 1) it’s a lie, and 2) it’s a lie worth telling if your goal is to undermine the President, because there’s a significant constituency to whom all of those things are seen as inherently evil.

Personally, I don’t hate America. I just hate conservatives, who like to think of themselves as the only real, true Americans, when they’re anything but. And I hate them most when they’re pulling this “liberals hate America” bullshit.

Of course, many liberals try hard not to hate anybody. I’m only speaking for myself.

  • marcus

@11 I do try not to actively ‘hate’ anyone. I find it very easy, however, to despise most conservatives and everything they stand for because, they are, as a rule, despicable.

  • reddiaperbaby1942

To Somnus at #10: This is a point that needs to be made far more often. Why do we always take a reactive and defensive stance toward these bizarre attacks from the right?

Remember when McCain defended Obama during the first campaign, against a “slur” from someone in the crowd that he was a Muslim? McCain told her “no, no — he’s a good Christian family man,” or words to that effect. He was widely praised for this by everyone, and of course compared to the abuse being spewed by Palin it was a breath of fresh air; but only a few isolated voices said that denying it implied there was something wrong with it. It’s like the phrase “openly gay” or “openly atheist”, used constantly even on the left.

And of course there’s a notorious Seinfeld episode: “not that there’s anything wrong with that.”

I find it interesting that these people are always deeply concerned about Sharia Law. They’ll be ready, huh?

The irony is that Republicans could institute Sharia Law next week and not only would they not be ready for it, they would probably happily applaud, since it’s unlikely they know what it is.

  • Kevin Kehres

If Michelle is a man … then the FBI needs to investigate the kidnapping of two black girls somewhere. Surely, someone has reported them missing, right?

  • marcus

lakitha @ 14 You would only have to change the name from ‘sharia’ to ‘biblical’ law.

In fact they’re working on it as we speak.

    Phffft!

What a load of hooey! Everybody knows Obama is a gray alien from Betelgeuse and he is modifying the climate to turn Earth into a base for his people in their war against the lizard people.

  • blf

No, no, no, not Betelgeuse. That’s just an Illuminati cover story. They (there’s more than one of them, scattered throughout time and space) have been secretly bred inside the Earth since before there was a Moon, by a still-shadowy collection of aliens. The rumors the Obamadroid-breeders are from some place in the known Universe are most probably that, rumors, and Teh Trvth is they arezzzZeeeeeeEEEeeeZAPsissalUrgghhHIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
