Tea Party Leader Wants Govt. Shutdown Over Foreign Ebola Patients

Judson Phillips, the leader of Tea Party Nation and a major league wingnut, went on Newsmax TV and said that Republicans should shut down the government if it tries to treat non-American medical personnel who contract the Ebola virus in Africa.

Claiming that last year’s government shutdown helped Republicans, Phillips said that Republicans in Congress should be ready to shut down the government if President Obama takes executive action to prevent the deportation of some undocumented immigrants living in the U.S., or if he brings “non-American Ebola patients to this country.”

Of course, because if they’re not Americans they aren’t humans and we shouldn’t give a shit about them, amirite? Very “Christian” of you, Mr. Phillips. I don’t recall Jesus refusing to heal “foreign” lepers, do you?

I don’t recall Jesus refusing to heal “foreign” lepers, do you?

Actually, he praised a “Samaritan” (who Jews of that age didn’t like) for his going to the trouble of helping someone not of his own nationality.

I don’t recall Jesus refusing to heal “foreign” lepers, do you?

    Actually, from Matthew 15…

15:22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

15:23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.

15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

15:25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

15:26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.

15:27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.

15:28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

So it IS okay to heal foreigners, according to Jesus – but only if they accept their status as actual dogs, and only if they grovel properly.

America is like this slice of chocolate cake. It’s mine and you can’t have any.

I’ve tried. Day after day I see stories like this, here at FTB and elsewhere, and I try to wrap my head around the rationale behind stuff like this. I try to see things from the perspectives of the various RWNJ’s and understand how they feel. I can’t. I’m, sorry. I know we all have different values and priorities and opinions, but some of these mother fuckers are just plain evil. That’s the word for it…evil. They are just evil, rotten, mean, hateful people who don’t deserve the fucking oxygen they breath. They fill me with despair.

We are probably going to bring a Sierra Leone native, who is a permanent US resident, to the biocontainment unit at the Nebraska Medical Center to treat him for Ebola. He is a surgeon who got the disease while treating patients at Kissy United Methodist Hospital in Freetown. If he is healthy enough to fly, he could be in Omaha by tomorrow.

That’s enough to impeach Obama … isn’t it?
