Jim Hoft: Dumbest, and Most Dishonest, Man on the Internet

On August 19, Jim Hoft, widely considered the dumbest man on the internet, wrote a post claiming that Darren Wilson had suffered an “orbital blowout fracture of the eye socket,” complete with an x-ray that wasn’t Wilson’s at all. His story was widely picked up in the wingnutosphere. Now that actual images have been released and disproved that story, does he retract it? Nope. He went back and edited it:

UPDATE: Officer Darren Wilson Suffered Severe Facial Contusions After Severe Beating During Mike Brown Attack | the Gateway Pundit.

The medical report was released after the jury decision was announced.

Darren Wilson suffered severe contusions after he was beat in the head by Michael Brown.

The police Report is here.

We previously reported that Officer Wilson suffered and [sic] orbital eye-socket fracture. It now appears he suffered severe bruising but no fracture.

He’s still wildly exaggerating, of course. The images from the police report show his skin a little red, not “severe bruising.” Silly rabbit, intellectual honesty is for non-wingnuts.

Even editing the thing at all is an astounding level of integrity for someone like Hoft. Idiots like that usually bank on the fact that nobody (but those evil libruls) would ever go back and look at their earlier statements. (c.f. Any psychic in history, anyone who predicts economic collapse due to helping the poor, etc.)

I’m surprised he walked it back at all. Why bother, when frightwing memes never die anyway? And besides that, any boo-boo a Law Enforcement Offishall ™ suffers is worth killing over, especially if it was inflicted on his ego.

Eventually we’ll get down to, “Darren Wilson got the Evil Eye from a young man he pointlessly harassed over jaywalking”.

There’s a reason that “Jim Hoft [is] widely considered the dumbest man on the internet;” he believes the things he says. In this case he believed his previous story to be wrong and “corrected” it to something he could believe. He isn’t smart enough to be a bullshitter or a liar; he’s just stupid and delusional.

That redness is interesting in itself — much of his face is also reddened, including under both eyes. Looks more like sunburn than anything. The photographs are from quite a while after the shooting, and apparently Wilson left the scene unescorted, went back to the station, cleaned himself up (including removing blood from himself and his clothing) and then after a while was examined.

Just slightly off-topic: I realized this morning that the DA, contrary to what many are saying, DID in fact want an indictment from the grand jury. And he got it. An indictment of Michael Brown. Because, you know, pot or something. Similarly, the cops and National Guard DID do their jobs on Monday night. Their jobs being protection of white businesses and citizens.

    What Trebuchet said at #6.

The prosecutor got exactly what he wanted.

I read somewhere that the prosecutor was also involved in the fundraising effort for the suspected officer. Is that true?

Probably not, according to Snopes: http://www.snopes.com/politics/crime/backstoppers.asp

Meanwhile, my understanding is that this was an existing grand jury which had sat on other cases. And I’d be VERY surprised if the DA’s office didn’t make it clear in each and every case that the defendant needed to be indicted. Except the Wilson case, of course. What are they supposed to think?
