Lively: The Gay Worse Than Mass Murder

Scott Lively, the completely unhinged bigot and self-loathing “ex-gay” preacher, went on TruNews with the equally deranged Rick Wiles and explained that homosexuality is the worst possible sin, worse even than mass murder. Because the Bible says so.

Lively said that homosexuality is a Satanic attack “on the very essence of who we are” that God has deemed a more offensive abomination than mass killings: “When you look in the Bible, there are sins that you would think of as worse, you know, murder or mass murder, but what does it come down to? Leviticus 18 tells the Hebrews exactly what it is that God identifies as the most rebellious behavior, the behavior that causes the land to actually vomit out its inhabitants and every item on that list, except for child sacrifice, is sexual perversion, and child sacrifice is often a form of sexual perversion. So that’s where we are.”

“Homosexuality is not just another sin,” he added, “it is the sin that defines rebellion against God, the outer edge of rebellion against God and it is the harbinger of God’s wrath, that’s why the Scripture gives the warning, ‘as in the days of Noah.’”

To be fair, he may be right. If the Biblical God exists and the stories about him are real, he really does think that the gay is worse than genocide. The punishment for being gay was to be stoned to death. The punishment for genocide was to be given the virgin females from the people you just slaughtered to have your way with. So yes, God seems to think genocide and mass murder are just fine.

Heck, working on a Sunday is worse than mass murder (or rape) – http://www.landoverbaptist.net/showthread.php?t=61566

To be fair, The Gays are pretty bad. They totally ruined my oatmeal cookies. Or maybe those were raisins.

  • dugglebogey

Leviticus 18 also says “Don’t ask your Aunt if you can fuck her.”

    So you got that too.

Wait a minute, since when is child sacrifice a sin? Better not tell Abraham and Jephthah. They were told that sacrificing your child to god was a virtue. OK, so Abraham got stopped, but Jephthah didn’t.

… “it is the sin that defines rebellion against God, the outer edge of rebellion against God and it is the harbinger of God’s wrath, that’s why the Scripture gives the warning, ‘as in the days of Noah.’”

Wait, I thought the sin that defines the outer edge of rebellion against God was worshiping false gods at best and atheism at worst. I mean, look at the Bible. Recognizing God’s existence and authority is the main theme. It’s the first commandment, it justifies genocide, and even the New Testament still speaks darkly about the denial of the Holy Spirit and what it merits.

Look, Lively, we’re in a race for the bottom here. You need to pay attention to the entire field.

Well, my copy of Leviticus also has that little thing about shellfish being an abomination. So, until I see Lively picketing the local Red Lobster, I’m gonna ignore the other thing.

#2 Modusoperandi: I’m pretty sure those were the raisins. They’re little minions of Satan, dontchaknow?

  • busterggi

Is sex with shellfish worse than homosexuality? I hear quahogs can do some crazy stuff.

  • caseloweraz

I heard that too. But I also heard that quahogs can’t touch geoducks in that department. There’s a reason their scientific name is Panopea generosa.
