Carson: Liberal Activists Use ‘Hate Speech,’ Try to Divide Us

Oh, Ben Carson. You have learned the art of hypocritical pandering so very well. You’ve also nearly reached Bryan Fischer levels of psychological projection with this bit about gay rights and pro-choice activists who are using “hate speech” to divide America.

Carson, who would never ever use inflammatory or conspiratorial language, told the extremely sympathetic Brody that such activists are “hateful people” and “the enemies” of everyday Americans because they “try to divide everybody up” and “incite people to anger and to hatred.”

“A good example would be somebody who is pro-life, the inciters would come along and say, ‘you’re anti-women, you hate women’ and they try to get women to hate you, when in fact you love women, you just happen also to love life and love babies. But that’s how they try to create the divisions,” he said. “Somebody who is pro-traditional-family, they’ll come up and say, ‘he’s a homophobe, they hate gay people, they’re nasty’ and they just try to incite all this stuff really to further their own agendas.”

Hey, do you guys remember when Carson criticized his fellow right wingers for using hate speech to divide us when they claim, every single day, that gay people are pedophiles and communists who are deliberately trying to destroy the country, Christianity, civilization and God himself? Or anti-choice activists when they call pro-choicers mass murderers like Adolf Hitler? Yeah, I don’t either. Psychological projection FTW.

It’s getting a little hard to decide if Carson, like Ted Cruz, is just pandering to the tea party base or if he really believes this crap and is in the Louie Gohmert category.

Why would he criticize the Truth? That you tried to divide us with that statement is worse than the human sacrifice of gay 9/11 Hitler slavery!

colnago: he’s probably somewhere in between: repeating the words he’s rewarded for repeating, and, at some point, letting the reward-mechanism convince him that the words are true as well as what everyone around him wants to hear. There really isn’t a bright and obvious line between pandering and believing; it’s more like living a character when you play him/her, except that you’re playing him/her full time in the real world, not just for a few hours a night on a stage.

Carson is Joe the plumber in blackface.

Considering all the creepy “rape-babies-are-a-gift-from-God” we heard from Republicans during the 2012 election, it’s perfectly fair to say they hate women. Considering they like to scream at women going into abortion clinics, they definitely do hate women (at least those women who don’t believe and do as they’re told).

@4: Nothing racist about characterizing an African-American as being “in blackface.”
