Gheen’s Bizarre, Rambling Anti-Immigration Views

Virulently racist anti-immigration activist William Gheen went on a Christian radio show and delivered a bizarre, rambling diatribe about how we’re all in “mortal danger” from immigration and a “growing anti-Christ spirit and anti-Christ movement” in America.

“The megawealth of the planet has never really been happy about the United States of America and this entire concept that we the people are self-governed and in charge and that big tycoons and kings and princes and emperors, like Obama’s acting like, are not in charge,” Gheen said. “And they’ve found a way to take over our corporations, to take over our media, to take over our country by facilitating a very costly and deadly illegal alien invasion.”

He warned that Americans are in “mortal danger” from immigration and from the “growing anti-Christ spirit and anti-Christ movement in this country that is becoming stronger and more emboldened as the traditional conservative center-right Americans are displaced in our jobs and our politics and elections.”

“When you look at a lot of places around the world like China and Cambodia and Vietnam and parts of Africa and other places where leftist-socialist things like this have occurred,” he added, “things have gotten apocalyptically bad for the group of people that had been in power before the socialists took over.” Talk about “demographic change in America as if it’s a natural thing to occur,” he added, is “a constant narrative in the media that has tried to make gun owners look bad, white Americans look bad, gun owners look bad.”

“That type of aggression – some of which you see it around the Ferguson situation, and you saw it around Duke Lacrosse and you saw it around the Trayvon Martin situation — these defamation, these stirring people up,” he said, is resulting in “the over 320,000 violent crimes minorities commit against whites in America.” He warned that America is going the way of London, which he claimed is rife with “prior illegal aliens storming into neighborhoods and bursting right into the houses to rape and pillage because they’ve already disarmed everybody through full gun confiscation.”

But he has a cunning plan to fix it all:

When a caller asked about how to “remove Obama from office,” Gheen proposed a simple plan. First, he said, “we’re working on Boehner and McConnell right now because those dominos have to fall and we can move to the next phase.”

The next phase, he said, would be for Congress to impeach and remove both President Obama and Vice President Biden.

Then the final piece of the puzzle comes into place: get Rep. Louie Gohmert or Rep. Steve King elected Speaker of the House, so he can ascend to the presidency until the next election is held.

President Louis Gohmert. I’ll just let that sink in.

Well, he’s kinda not wrong on some of that. (IMO) the superwealthy don’t particularly like ‘one person one vote’ concepts of government, they have taken over our businesses, and while its probably not a super high priority for them, increasing the size of the potential labor force (in order to lower wages) is probably something they strive to do.

He gets it wildly wrong in implying that the global ‘megawealth’ is in some sort of foreign anti-captalist group collective (it isn’t), in thinking illegal immigrants have anything to do with control of the media or corporations (they don’t), and in thinking that immigrants are somehow more ‘deadly’ or more ‘costly’ than the rest of us (they aren’t).

I’m so happy to learn “that big tycoons … are not in charge”.

Phew!!! For a moment I thought that they might be.

And how would they impeach Biden? He hasn’t done anything. His job description is basically “keep breathing.”

Whenever right wingers talk about gun laws and their effects in other countries you can pretty much expect bullshit. They always seem to assume that gun laws were just like those in the US, until some event happened and suddenly all the guns were taken. Even before the UK banned handguns after the Dunblane massacre the number of private citizens with handgun permits was, from what I remember, somewhere around 50 thousand. 50 thousand, out of a population of 60 million. On top of that concealed carry of handguns hadn’t been allowed in decades. Some long guns continue to be legal in the UK, and there are currently just under 900 thousand registered firearms owners in the UK. So the average crook hasn’t had to change his behaviour much over the years, since the chances of running into any sort of gun in the hands of anyone was small.

eric @1: it’s not that “big tycoons” have “taken over” our businesses — they are the logical end result of our almost-capitalist system. After all, why do you go into business? To make money. And if you’re successful, you make a lot of money. Then you start buying Congressmen and Senators, to make sure “the people” don’t get in the way of your making even more money.

As for the rest of this screed — this guy’s an idiot. (And please note that I’m usually prone to ascribing this sort of nonsense to ignorance rather than stupidity, but this guy is stupid.)

The bizarre part to me is how nobody is stopping them from doing anything except keeping them from forcing others to observe their religion.

Somehow that is preventing them from practicing their religion. I guess brainwashing and force are an integral part of their religion.

If that makes me “anti-christ” then I guess I will be “anti-christ.”

And how would they impeach Biden?

By a majority vote of the House of Representatives. It’s right in the Constitution.

Oh, do you mean, like, grounds? Conspiracy with Obama, or maybe just being a Democrat. Doesn’t much matter.

Of course, they might have a hard time rounding up the necessary supermajority in the Senate. However, most of them don’t really get that far — just imagining the Kenyan Islamofascist Commie Usurper being hauled up on trial is enough to get them to climax.

Other than that supermajority thing, though, it’s really not a bad plan. It essentially transforms the USA into a parliamentary system, and with enough State legislatures on board they might even change the rules enough to get that majority in the Senate (e.g. by electing Senators by majority of House districts in a State.)

The immigration the conservatives fear is coming from Mexico and other Latin American countries, right? Aren’t those countries even more strongly religious than America? Shouldn’t they be welcoming this influx of new Christian blood?

Yeah… Good luck with that. McConnell didn’t exactly just fall off the pickle truck; he’s a very savvy politician. The Tan Man may not be as experienced, but he’s no pushover either.

And I would be very interested in knowing who is the “we” that Gheen refers to here.

Didn’t Clinton’s popularity go up toward the end of his terms, after the impeachment? Is that what they want?

Ah hah! So the world’s megawealthy, who own everything, are taking over America by filling our corporations, media and country, which they also own, with illegals, to usher in the Socialism that the megawealthy love so much!

I like how wingnuts start with a legitimate point (plutarchy), then spin off on a series of tangents, ending up where your only reply can be “How did you end up at punching down when you started off at punching up?”

I wonder where the London story came from, it’s the first I’ve heard despite being in the UK. The only thing I can think of is it is a warped version of the incident where a few hundred migrants tried to charge onto a ferry from Calais to Dover, or he may just have made the whole thing up.

  • illdoittomorrow

Eric, at 3: Of course Biden has done something impeachable- he’s a) a Democrat, who b) conspired with the Usurper in the White House, all while not doing whatever it is the wingnuts figure he should be doing (namely, not being a Democrat or taking orders from the Usurper). If that’s not impeachable, what is?

  • John Pieret

    matty1 @ 12:

I wonder where the London story came from …

Isn’t it obvious? Since the only thing keeping illegal aliens from storming into neighborhoods and bursting right into the houses to rape and pillage is the fact that Americans own guns, it must be true in London where people don’t own guns! QED!

President Louis Gohmert. I’ll just let that sink in.

If that ever happens, it’ll be a good thing that I don’t own a gun.

It took a long time for the smell to go away.

U Frood brought up the fact that people from Latin America may be more religious than Americans. One of the ironies is that the US right continues to oppose those groups entering the US at a time when the religious ones in some countries are increasingly dumping Catholicism, which the right wingers don’t like, for American Protestant sects like Pentacostalism. You’d think they’d have a clue that there are more “real Christians” down south than there used to be.

Well I live in London and I haven’t noticed a plague of aliens legal or otherwise, I’m sure I would have noticed little green men with three fingers if there were loads of them. We do have quite a lot of non-native Londoners (I’m one of them) but as for bursting into houses to rape and pillage, well I haven’t noticed much of that either. Our guns weren’t confiscated, we didn’t have them in the first place, neither do our police (generally), an idea that might be worth adopting in parts of the USA.

I also have a much better plan for getting Obama out of office. Keep fantasizing about impeachment and Louis Ghomert , (personally the idea of President Michelle Bachmann is what gives me a hard on) until January 2017 when magically your plans will succeed.

I liked the corporations better when they were run by the little people, and not the big tycoons.
