Jindal Follows in Rick Perry’s Footsteps

You have to be impressed by Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal’s strategic political acumen. In choosing a presidential candidate to emulate from 2012, he chose Rick Perry. Like Perry, he’s launching his 2016 presidential campaign with a prayer rally. In fact, it’s the same prayer rally by the same name, led by the same people.

We believe that America is in a state of crisis. Not just politically, financially, or morally, but because we are a nation that has not honored God in our successes or humbly called on Him in our struggles. The Response: Louisiana is committed to prayer above politics, to seeing the church moved to stand for righteousness, and to pray for God’s mercy for America.

According to the Bible, the answer to a nation in such crisis is to gather in humility and repentance and ask God to intervene. The Response will be another historic gathering of people from across the nation to pray and fast for America.

Yes, another historic gathering to do the same thing all the other “historic gatherings” have done, with no effect whatsoever on the country. I’ll let you in on a little secret: The real purpose of these rallies is to do two things: Position someone as God’s Chosen Candidate and add to their fundraising email and address lists for later use. But Jindal says it will help turn America “back to God.” Hey, maybe he’ll show off the elite exorcism skills he showed when he was in college.

Jindal 2016, Turn all of America into Luisiana.

  • Mr Ed

Dear Governor Jindal are you a man of true faith or are you a pretender skilled a quoting the bible? To show his power God has Gideon limit the number of soldiers (Judges 7:4-6). If you are a true man of faith then take no contribution more than $100 and let God’s work be seen.

“We’ve got to stop being the stupid party.” – Bobby Jindal

[best Ted Knight voice] Well? We’re waiting…

Naw. He can’t win. Of the Republican’s Three-Legged Stool, he’s only got one. He’s got Jesus, but he doesn’t have the spite or the bullying.

Not even prayer can help if he isn’t willing to hunt some group below him and push them down in the mud.

Has there ever been a time when ‘Murica hasn’t been in a state of financial/moral/spiritual/military/political/other crisis?

Jindal 2016, Turn all of America into Luisiana.

I think you misspelled “Lusitania” there.

So in the spirit of not being the stupid party, he’s mimicking one of the people he was referencing when calling it the stupid party. Makes about as much sense as anything else done by the stupid party, I guess.

Of all the creepy little weasels, he’s the creepiest and the weaseliest.

The Response: Louisiana is committed to prayer above politics, to seeing the church moved to stand for righteousness, and to pray for God’s mercy for America.

The response has 3 parts: 1) prayer, 2) righteousness, and 3) prayer. Boy, if that doesn’t cover all the important stuff, I don’t know what does.

Oh for the days when John Adams thought it was a good thing that American government was not based on guidance from the Almighty but rather “contrived merely by the use of reason and the senses.”

Jindal is most likely a real long shot for the Republican nomination. To be blunt a lot of the Republican base is going to say “No way do we want another Negro President!” The fact Jindal is of Indian ancestry isn’t likely to get through their heads.

Modusoperandi @ # 4: Not even prayer can help if he isn’t willing to hunt some group below him and push them down in the mud.

Haven’t been following Bobby’s adventures with gays, unwillingly pregnant women, coastal residents, or biology educators lately, eh?

Pierce R. Butler, sure, but he doesn’t have that look in his eyes.

“…we are a nation that has not honored God in our successes or humbly called on Him in our struggles.”

Uh, so the new line from conservatives is we are NOT “a Christian nation.”
