Duke Threatens to Release List of Politicians He’s Met With

David Duke, former grand wizard of the KKK, is so upset about the focus on Rep. Steve Scalise speaking at a white supremacist conference he organized in 2002 that he’s threatening to release a full list of names of politicians he has met with and has ties to.

Overall, Duke was rather flabbergasted by the new focus on Scalise. He said he has hosted both Democratic and Republican legislators at everything from conferences to his children’s birthday parties. He said he has met with Democratic legislators at least 50 times in his political life.

And he delivered a warning to both Republicans and Democrats: Treat Scalise fairly, and don’t try to make political hay out of the situation. Or he said he would be inclined to release a list of names of all the politicians — both Republicans and Democrats — with whom he has ties.

“If Scalise is going to be crucified — if Republicans want to throw Steve Scalise to the woods, then a lot of them better be looking over their shoulders,” Duke said.

Sounds like a great reason to keep focusing on this story. Please do release all those names, Mr. Duke, Democrats and Republicans alike.

    I think they call that a “win-win.”

Throw Steve Scalise to the woods? Portmanteau of “take him to the woodshed” and “throw him under the bus?” Sweet…

  • Pierce R. Butler

He said he has met with Democratic legislators at least 50 times in his political life.

Pretty low count for a former member of the state legislature. Must’ve been concerned about cooties.

I read it as Throw him to the wolves.

He said he has met with Democratic legislators at least 50 times in his political life.

Keep in mind that this would be a timespan of 25+ years in a state that, until very recently, was dominated by Blue Dog Democrats. So those legislators were likely state reps, and not at all akin to your average New York or California Democrat.

About time the American public realized who their representatives hob nob and do business with when said rep’s think no rank and file supporters are watching,

Let the true face of their politics become apparent…see if they will be in office next election.

Quite a few might still be but there regardless but there are those that no doubt would be out on their ear from both repub’s and Democrat fold…but at least it will be in the public domain that certain rep’s obviously have certain attitudes towards certain subjects.

Also keep in Kookook Duke™ is, well, a kook. Any names would have to carefully confirmed; there is no particular reason to think Kookook Duke™ would be telling the truth.

Well whatever the threat is aimed at sitting legislators, trying to back them off from a righteous…but belated…hunt for a Scalise skull to adorn the wall of fatuous and credulous dingbats that scandalize the electorate. mostly for political gain.

But maybe the cupboard has to many skeletons of embarrassment to both parties that make the threat superfluous…time will tell!

Duke’s threat in itself is a dangerous game, it is looked upon with a great deal of toxic venom if anyone is actually caught trying to suborn elected representatives of government.

Any way you look at it — it’s totally impressive.

Shooting one self in the foot, mouth and anus simultaneously is – well – quite something.

Or a misstatement or misquote for ‘throw him to the wolves’.

I sure hope Duke actually makes good on that threat!

Stevo – I doubt he will, self-preservation is buried deep in the limbic system.

    Re Schweinehund @ #10

Not a bit of it, the Schweinehund does it all the time.

  • had3

He received over 50% of the white male vote when he ran. There are plenty of politicians he’s met with who have no fear of being outed: and that’s the true tragedy.

Really SLC? That’s all you’ve got?! How disappointing you’ve become. :(

That looks like a really clever blackmail threat: “Suck up to me more or I’ll tell everyone you’ve been sucking up to me!”
