Apparently, Feminists Make Priests Rape Children

Cardinal Raymond Burke, the reactionary Catholic who was recently demoted from one of the highest ranking positions in the Vatican and given a figurehead position by Pope Francis, bizarrely claims that “radical feminism” has huge influence in the Catholic Church (WHA?) and that it’s responsible for priests raping children.

Cardinal Raymond Burke said in an interview with website “The New Emangelism: Drawing Men to Jesus Christ and His Catholic Church” that the church needs to return to its male-centered roots and stop catering to “women’s issues” in order to regain its once robust standing in the world…

“I think there has been a great confusion with regard to the specific vocation of men in marriage and of men in general in the Church during the past 50 years or so,” Burke told The New Emangelism (TNE) in an interview published Monday. “It’s due to a number of factors, but the radical feminism which has assaulted the Church and society since the 1960s has left men very marginalized.”

“Unfortunately, the radical feminist movement strongly influenced the Church,” Cardinal Burke complained, “leading the Church to constantly address women’s issues at the expense of addressing critical issues important to men; the importance of the father, whether in the union of marriage or not; the importance of a father to children; the importance of fatherhood for priests; the critical impact of a manly character; the emphasis on the particular gifts that God gives to men for the good of the whole society.”

“The goodness and importance of men became very obscured,” he said, and that needs to change…

The church itself, he said, has become “very feminized. Women are wonderful, of course. They respond very naturally to the invitation to be active in the Church. Apart from the priest, the sanctuary has become full of women. The activities in the parish and even the liturgy have been influenced by women and have become so feminine in many places that men do not want to get involved.”

The result, he said, is that real men have been driven away from the church and made room for pedophile priests, an era that he confidently asserts is over.

“We can also see that our seminaries are beginning to attract many strong young men who desire to serve God as priests,” he said. “The new crop of young men are manly and confident about their identity. This is a welcome development, for there was a period of time when men who were feminized and confused about their own sexual identity had entered the priesthood; sadly some of these disordered men sexually abused minors; a terrible tragedy for which the Church mourns.”

A terrible tragedy that the church covered up and facilitated for decades, at the very least. In what alternate universe does feminism in any form have influence over the Catholic Church, much less “radical” feminists?

In what alternate universe does feminism in any form have influence over the Catholic Church, much less “radical” feminists?

Step one: “radical feminism” means anything more than “Christian Feminism,” which is veneration of the Virgin Mary and the (also virginal) saints.

Step two: it follows that the trend since the Enlightenment of accepting women as anything but chattel breeding stock is “radical feminism,” a trend that’s been weakening the Church since roughly the Reformation.

    HTH. HAND.

And we get the whole gay means pedophile thing from this jackass. What a fucking moron.

Sooo … um … what changed? Were women driven out of parish activities and their icky influence erased from the liturgy so that the he-men came back? Or did you suddenly remember that you had to say that there will be no more pedophile priests (which has nothing to do with feminized men anyway) and couldn’t be bothered to complete the connection?

I see he is also pushing the ‘homosxuals = pedofiles’ bullshit. What a hatefull fucker.

As I’ve said already once today, xianity is good at making people take responsibility for their actions.

It’s all god’s fault. Or satan and the demons. Or the gays, commies, liberals, Adam and Eve, or…women.

The Catholic church in general and the priests are just…more xian meat puppets.

Feminists are so powerful they can influence things in the past before feminism was really a thing. Or does this guy have an excuse for all the abuse the Church committed against women and children up to the early 20th century?

  • cptdoom

This is a welcome development, for there was a period of time when men who were feminized and confused about their own sexual identity had entered the priesthood; sadly some of these disordered men sexually abused minors; a terrible tragedy for which the Church mourns.

But wasn’t it the “manly” and “confident” leaders of the church that actually led the decades-long (if not centuries-long) conspiracy to cover up those crimes? It was the leadership, after all, that obstructed justice through witness intimidation, and payments of hush money, not to mention moving priests known to have abused children to new locations so they could avoid prosecution, which is also aiding and abetting. Or is Burke arguing all those leaders were gay?

That figurehead position was leading the Society of the Congregation of Holy Males of the Universal Church of Kristos, wasn’t it? You know, SCHMUCK.

I’m right now watching a French man on BBC TV (didn’t catch his name but he was identified as an author) and he was stating unequivocally that the killers were not Muslims and they should not be identified with Islam.

real men have been driven away from the church and made room for pedophile priests

Scene in a typical Catholic seminary:

“Father Jonzetti! I have very bad news!”

    “What is it, my son?”

“We need to fill 20 priest positions, but I have just checked and only three of the applicants are Real Men! The rest are all latent pedophiles!”

“Dear Jesus! That IS bad news! Well, it cant be helped – admit 17 latent pedophiles to the seminary.”

“Uhh, Father Jonzetti, I know of 17 women who have asked to become priests. Couldn’t we admit them, instead of the pedophiles?”

“Merciful Heaven, NO! If we let women become priests the Holy Mother Church will become a self-serving insular institution protecting itself at the expense of the parishioners! I will not allow that! Now just get out there and admit some pedophiles so we can get back to serving the little Catholic children.”

    “Yes, Father.”

the radical feminism which has assaulted the Church and society since the 1960s has left men very marginalized.”

Yeah, that’s the problem with our society – men are marginalized.

the importance of fatherhood for priests

Huh? Aren’t RCC priests supposed to be celibate? I know that someone who was married/had children in the past can become a priest, but that can’t be a statistically significant issue for the church.

The activities in the parish and even the liturgy have been influenced by women and have become so feminine in many places that men do not want to get involved.”

At first I couldn’t think of what he might be referring to re: the liturgy. AFAIK it hasn’t substantively changed in hundreds of years. But then I thought: I’m guessing some pronoun use has changed, and he’s pissed because in some cases references to “man” and “mankind” have probably been changed. Because we all know, when you change “mankind” to “humankind,” the gays come flocking to your establishment.

“We can also see that our seminaries are beginning to attract many strong young men who desire to serve God as priests,” he said.

So, the seminaries will soon be filled with macho beefcake men…and you think this is going to reduce the number of gay men who go into the seminary? Good luck with that.

This from a guy who wears a 40′ satin train on his red satin dress?

I mean, I don’t care what people wear and I’m not gonna judge but if he’s worried about feminization and such maybe he should go brown Carhartt or Diesel denim.

“We can also see that our seminaries are beginning to attract many strong young men who desire to serve God as priests,” he panted.

Tom of Finland really missed a trick, not doing clergy-oriented art.

Privilege means not only avoiding responsibility for your actions, it also means blaming your actions on the very people you’ve been victimizing.

…there was a period of time when men who were feminized and confused about their own sexual identity had entered the priesthood…

I know, right? How is it possible that the priesthood failed to attract virile, macho, testosterone-driven, manly men with its promise of wearing dresses and never having sex? It’s a divine mystery.

  • Scr… Archivist

Looking at it etymologically, wouldn’t “emangelism” mean taking out the eating or chewing from something? Or would it mean removing tricks and embellishments?

  • johnwoodford

Eric@15: He may be talking about the practices of allowing girls to be altar servers, and allowing women to be lectors and otherwise enter the incredibly holy and formerly man-only (except when it had to be cleaned, natch) space around the altar. Unfortunately for him, that particular ship sailed well over thirty years ago in the US.

It’s kind of odd, though, that his point seems to boil down to “Manly men don’t love God as much as they hate women, and we need people like that!” I mean, how committed to God are these testosterone junkies going to be, if girl cooties are enough to chase them away?

I guess being chaplain to the Knights of Malta must leave one with vast amounts of free time on one’s hands. Perhaps they should find the good cardinal a different job that involves lots and lots of paperwork, like putting together a comprehensive list of victims of clergy rape over the last oh, let’s say 100 years. Then, perhaps, he will find less time for granting interviews.

    Carharts and denim?

Pansy stuff. You want REAL men’s clothes. Something tough. Like black leather with macho steel studs. A REAL man should be proud of his body so chaps, and codpieces, and mesh shirts and chains. To show that they are men they should grow a mustachio and thrust their pelvises a lot and dance to music with a strong manly beat and enjoy the smell of sweat and the company of other macho men and …

Push anything far enough and it becomes its opposite. Not that here is anything wrong with that …

  • anubisprime

    Well said Burke you burk…

That’s right carry on carrying on in the ancient and discredited fashion of the RCC.

The quickest way to become irrelevant to society and a sad little footnote in the textbooks documenting the history of social change is to not change and not progress with the rest of humanity and if at all possible reverse the magisterium and its way of functioning to the middle ages.

Burn those witches, shame those women, torture in jeebus name…you know it makes sense!

While the rational point and laugh and move on.
