Bozell Goes On Ridiculous Rant at CPAC

I‘ve long found Brent Bozell of the Media Research Center one of the most ridiculous figures on the American right wing. He has an amazing ability to make the dumbest statements with an arrogance that far surpasses his actual abilities. The rant he gave at CPAC is an excellent case in point:

For nearly 20 minutes, Bozell ran through a litany of right-wing outrages and supposed scandals as he declared that “something terrible is happening to our country [as] the radical left now controls most levers of political and cultural power and is using both in a relentless campaign to destroy the last vestiges of freedom in America.”

“Tyranny is knocking at our door,” he warned, before declaring that the left “will do anything, using any means at their disposal, legal or otherwise” to strip conservatives of their freedom of speech and saying that the government isn’t “all that different from the East German Stasi.”

“Cultural fascism has arrived in America,” Bozell said. “Let us understand this soberly and unequivocally.”

Be afraid! Be very afraid!

“Tyranny is knocking at our door,” he warned, before declaring that the left “will do anything, using any means at their disposal, legal or otherwise” to strip conservatives of their freedom of speech and saying that the government isn’t “all that different from the East German Stasi.”

And after he said this he was immediately arrested by Obama’s Secret Police and thrown into a FEMA camp for reeducation. Sad really.

Anyone who wears a necktie like that is not to be trusted. 😉

Seeing that this is the guy behind the would-be-censors “Parents Television Council”, he would know a thing or two about destroying freedom and stripping people of their freedom of speach.

Where the hell does he live?

    Bozell, your projection is showing.

“Tyranny is knocking at our door,”

Back in high school, when our “military history club” (the prototypical wargaming club, basically) used to play lots of Diplomacy, Phil Carrol formulated the hypothesis that 95% of diplomacy was the art of saying “now look what you’ve gone and made me do” and the other 5% was brute force. I’m constantly amazed at how right he was 40-some years later.

    As far as I’m concerned.

” something terrible is happening to our country [as] the radical left now controls most levers of political and cultural power”

Who knew that the repubs in charge of the House were part of the radical left…they sure hide it well.

Where the hell does he live?

To find out, we should first find out the color of the sky there.

Still, it’s nice that tyranny is polite enough to knock.

@8: House AND Senate. Also supreme court when it comes to business, and most state Governors. It stands to reason, really: more control means greater need for a boogeyman to explain the failures.

  • Francisco Bacopa

Cultural fascism? I thought it was supposed to be cultural Marxism.

Sorry, to interrupt, but I am afraid it is time to apply electrodes to your testicles. Sorry for the inconvenience. After, you will have a nice lunch, then 2 hours of waterboarding. I will ask the concierge to use room temperature water. Can I get you anything while you wait for the torturers to arrive?

MO – wouldn’t it be even better if it rang the doorbell a lot

Well, at least it keeps his foreskin from rolling up & covering his face.

Add that in French afterwards, and that’s practically Canadian Tyranny.*

Sorry, I can’t click any links, on account of the internet being a festering boil of itself.

    * Take that, another country!

Let us understand this soberly and unequivocally.

Okey Dokey, then … get off the stage.

Hee hee. A lot of these right-wing ding-dongs seem pretty much the same to me and I can’t tell them apart. But in some circles on the Leftosphere, Bozell is known as Dr. Zaius. And I am not likely to forget a right-wing ding-dong who looks like Dr. Zaius.

“Cultural fascism has arrived in America,” Bozell said. “Let us understand this soberly and unequivocally.”

Well I have to agree with him there; this week, it’s hangin’ out at CPAC – along with Jamila Bey.

  • lpetrich

Brent Bozell and his audience like to feel persecuted, it seems.

But if Obama was anything like Putin, he would have found the Koch brothers and Sheldon Adelson and other right-wing oligarchs guilty of corruption and anti-American activities, and he would then have sent them to Alaskan prison camps. Which is pretty much what Putin did about oligarchs like Mikhail Khodorkovsky.

Well, he couldn’t have ran through all of the rightwing outrages and scandals; that would have taken him longer than it takes to recite the Mahabharata.

  • scienceavenger

Meh, Bozell is a legacy celebrity, brother-in-law of Bill Buckley, and it shows. I doubt anyone would ever have heard of him had he married Jane Schmo.

  • jnorris

I didn’t watch the video because I didn’t want to overwork the radical left wing tyrants doing the censoring.
