Carson: Hip Hop Destroys Family, is Opposed to Jesus Christ

Ben Carson did an interview with an R&B radio station in New York the other day and said that he would announce that he’s running for president next month. And then he uttered one of the most jaw-dropping statements I’ve ever heard, claiming that hip hop music destroys everything good and that by hip hop he means everything that is opposed to Jesus.

“We need to reestablish faith in our communities and the values and principles that got us through slavery, that got us through Jim Crow, and segregation, and all kinds of horrible things that were heaped upon us,” Carson said, according to Business Insider. “Why were we able to get through those? Because of our faith, because of our family, because of our values, and as we allow the hip hop community to destroy those things for us, and as we grasp onto what’s politically correct and not what is correct, we continue to deteriorate.”

The assertion that hip hop music stands in sharp opposition to “family values” received some pushback from the show’s host, who told Carson, “When you said ‘hip-hop,’ my antennae went up very quickly, because I said, ‘Wait a minute that sounds like an old argument that they used to make about rock ‘n’ roll/R&B back in the fifties.’ That’s what they used to say.”

In an attempt to better explain what he meant, Carson replied, “When I talk about the hip hop community, I’m talking about the aspect of modern society that pretty much dismisses anything that has to do with Jesus Christ, that’s what I’m talking about.”

Gosh, I can’t imagine why the Republicans can’t seem to lock up the black vote, can you?

Say what you really mean, Doc: that jazz musicians will corrupt our daughters.

America has never been the same since ragtime was introduced.

    And get off my lawn!

Carson should love the hiphopster music the kids these days listen to. With their baggy pants, those urban thugs (*wink, wink*) can’t run quickly away from the police, making it easier to shoot them before they have a chance to threateningly keep their hands up.

  • Sastra

“When I talk about the hip hop community, I’m talking about the aspect of modern society that pretty much dismisses anything that has to do with Jesus Christ, that’s what I’m talking about.”

    Yeah, it’s that “jungle beat.”

And how would Carson classify this? Google is your friend (or, arguably in this particular case, enemy.)

Jesus sure loves him some Narcocorrido though…

The world has been going downhill since the first caveman learned that two rocks beating together make noise.

Gosh, I can’t imagine why the Republicans can’t seem to lock up the black vote, can you?

Oh I think I got a fair idea or five of why that might be.

“When I talk about the hip hop community, I’m talking about the aspect of modern society that pretty much dismisses anything that has to do with Jesus Christ, that’s what I’m talking about.”

Wait, we can do this? Awesome!

When I talk about the conservative community, I’m talking about the aspect of modern society that focuses on illegalizing octopus races, that’s what I’m talking about.

When I talk about the Christian community, I’m talking about a community that promotes potluck lunches, that’s what I’m talking about.

When I talk about Ben Carson, I’m talking about a dancing raccoon wearing a top hat, that’s what I’m talking about.

    Whee, this is fun!

  • scienceavenger

Every time Carson opens his mouth, Jon Stewart regrets his retirement decision that much more.

  • karmacat

So in Carson’s mind, anything that doesn’t mention Jesus must be opposed to Jesus? He must really love Ted Cruz because he says Jesus all the time.

  • scienceavenger

You know, I’m starting to reconsider my position on Carson as president, because if he can get me to side with Hip Hop, he can do anythng.

  • Snoof

    karmacat @ 10

So in Carson’s mind, anything that doesn’t mention Jesus must be opposed to Jesus?

That is how some Christian fanatics claim to approach things, yes. That’s why they’re so insistent on having prayer in schools and “under God” in the pledge of allegiance and do things like write “Christian cookbooks” and study “Bibilical economics” and insist rainbows are beautiful because God made them that way – because their automatic assumption is that everything is either Good (moral, godly, part of the in-group) or Evil (immoral, satanic, not part of the in-group) and anything that isn’t explicitlyChristian must be in the latter category. Also assumed is that all Evil things are basically interchangeable – murder, hip-hop, baptising babies, they’re all equivalent.

One fine night they leave the pool hall

Headin’ for the dance at the Arm’ry

Libertine men and scarlet women and ragtime

Shameless music that’ll drag your son, your daughter

Into the arms of a jungle animal instinct massteria!

Friends, the idle brain is the devil’s playground, trouble!

At least Harold Hill is redeemed at the end of The Music Man. I don’t think Carson or the Republican Party can be redeemed. Perhaps Ben should try to start a youth band.

  • blf

Worse, the songs aren’t sung in Latin!

  • John Pieret

anything that isn’t explicitly Christian must be in the latter [Evil} category

Gee! … do they have Christian bathroom fixtures now?

  • busterggi

Carson has never watched a hip hop or rap awards show – everyone who wins thanks Jesus.

  • D. C. Sessions

busterggi, they’re thanking the wrong Jesus.

  • theguy

“We need to reestablish faith in our communities and the values and principles that got us through slavery, that got us through Jim Crow, and segregation”

If Carson knew anything about history, he would know that the slave owners, the segregationists and racists also believed in a right-wing God. The vice president of the Confederacy, Alexander Stephens, specifically used religious natural law arguments to justify slavery.

  • noahsarkive

@D. C. Sessions: It’s true!! I know a jazz musician who corrupted an innocent young Christian daughter.

Well, he later married her, so I’m not sure it counts. (Or just maybe, IT’S EVEN WORSE!)

  • Georgia Sam

Strange. I never thought of our local rabbi as a hip-hop artist. I guess I have a lot to learn about the genre.

I followed that bitch to her house

She’s kind of stupid, walking through the block without a spouse

She’s got a hold of her purse with a death grip

But the purse ain’t what I want so don’t trip

I know she saw me when she started walking faster

I grabbed the Glock and I was just about to blast her

But then I stopped because I thought it’d be much better

If the bitch is still alive then the pussy gonna be wetter

So the chase was on, I started running

I said “You’d better stop, cause if you don’t I’m gonna be gunning”

She didn’t stop so I popped on in her knee

That’s when she straight-up hit the motherfucking concrete

I grabbed her legs and threw her in the buck

She said, “Don’t be so rough cause I really wanna fuck”

I started digging, my nigga, I was digging

She had a knife and in my back that bitch was digging

I was high so I didn’t feel shit

She realized she was fucking with a lunatic

She started screaming “Let me go,” loud as fuck

Cause of her hollering I busted me a fat nut

I stood up and started wiping off my shit

And put it in her mouth and said “Suck bitch”

Don’t get it twisted it wasn’t my dick the bitch was sucking

It was the barrel of my Glock that had her head ducking

I took it out and stuck it in her pussy

I pulled the trigger and the nut came thick and mushy

I grabbed my gun and disappeared like Jack the Ripper

Young X-Raided is a real bitch killer

    The B the I the T the C the H

    The K the I the L the L the A

    It’s the devil in disguise..

    Oh yeah, in disguise

    It’s Halloween and I got a treat

And dressed like the Devil and I’m handing out human meat

And every ho that rings my bell

I drag them in the house and take them on a trip through Hell

Let’s say, for instance, there was this white bitch

I met her before this story but this time she got to die and shit

I drug her in the back room

On her stomach, puppy-style, stuck my dick up in her womb

She wasn’t screaming, she was loving this dick

I couldn’t nut; the bitch was having too much fun and shit

I stuck my knife in her ass with no Vasoline

I stuck it deeper and deeper and then I heard her scream

I thought the pain from my knife was why she hollering

But she was nutting; by my blade she was not bothered

She busted a nut around my dick that shit got hotter

The bitch’s nut was hot like scalding lava

I started screaming, she was laughing like a mother fuck

My dick was burning half to death cause of this slut

She let me go and I ran to my act-right

My hands was bleeding, I was squeezing trigger hella tight

Like twenty shells I let her have it to the face

When smoke cleared there wasn’t a motherfucking trace

Where was this bitch? She disappeared like great Houdini

Against the wall was something sicker than zuccini

I blew her up in bits and bits, her face were gone

MY dick was raw and nibbled to the bone

But she dead, her head was like exploded nigga

A close encounter for the motherfucking bitch killer

    The B the I the T the C the H

    The K the I the L the L the A

    It’s the devil in disguise..

    Oh yeah, in disguise

Cruising down Stocking slow, giving hoes crazy stares

They on their stroll, and half of them I put them there

I saw a bitch, kind of young, Chinese and black mix

I roll my window down, “Thirty bucks for this trick?”

She approached the Jeep, “I give you a G if it feels like tight”

She said, “The way you talking I could suck your dick all night”

Then it was on, I took her home, that was like her first mistake

Cause what the ain’t gonna give, X-Raided locc gonna take

I took her in my room G

She laid on the bed and said, “Daddy, come and kill me”

Not knowing that’s what I had for that ass and get

Like Rick James I’m fixed to torture this bitch and shit

I laid her on her back with them spreaded

I grabbed my razor blade and pussy lips got shredded

She was bleeding like that time of the month

I cut a hole fat enough to stick my fist up in her cunt

Stunt that life span that dope got sliced

Bleeding like a hemophiliac sucking dried ice

I chopped the bitch to bits and bits, yeah

Another victim of the nigga with the sickness

    – X-Raided, “Bitch Killa”

    @jonathangray

Was there a point to that? If we’re just going to post violent song lyrics, I’m pretty sure I can find something worse than that in just a couple minutes. None of it would be classified as hip hop.

  • http://en.uncyclopedia.co/wiki/User:Modusoperandi Modusoperandi

jonathangray, if you think that’s bad, you should hear the lyrics to the Waltz. No wonder Europe’s such a mess! Thank God we here in America have Johnny Cash to keep us on the straight and narrow!

D C Seesions @ 1 “Say what you really mean, Doc: that jazz musicians will corrupt our daughters.”

It has also been reported that they shoot up some kind of crazy weed that makes them all violent and shit.

Al Dente @ 26 How about this one?

    He’s a Folk singer! (And a friend of mine>)

David Wilcox – Blow ‘Em Away Lyrics

    Every morning, I commute.

Mild-mannered man. In a business suit.

When I wanna come home at the end of my day

There’s all these other cars stacked up in my way.

    I pull up behind one

    Pull out my pistol

    And blow ’em away

When I’m driving my car I wanna go fast

But there’s this slow car, won’t let me pass

I flash my lights. I honk my horn.

Well…. I have to consider him warned.

    I pull up behind him

    Pull out my pistol

    And blow ’em away

    Jesse James behind the wheel

It’s high noon in my automobile

    You call me crazy,

    You call me sick

Yeah, I got to get to where I’m going to quick

Son of a bitch, he cut me off.

Three whole lanes he pulled across

Made me mad. Made me swerve.

Son of a bitch got what he deserved.

    I pulled up behind him

    Pulled out my pistol

    And blew ’em away.

    Oh, look

    Motorcycle, is riding between

He’s splittin’ lanes, if you know what I mean

This cuttin’ in line that’s an act of war

I saw him comin’. I opened my door.

    Knocked him over

    Pulled out my pistol

    And blew ’em away

    Jesse James behind the wheel

It’s high noon in my automobile

    You call me crazy,

    You call me sick

Yeah, I got to get to where I’m going to quick

Little ol’ lady, bless her heart.

She’s walkin’ her poodle ‘cross the boulevard.

It was wearin’ a red knit sweater, little knitted hat

Probably named “Fifi” or somethin’ stupid like that!

    I said, “Here Fifi”

    Pulled out my pistol

    And blew it away.
